This is the oldest Military Cemetery on the west coast. http://www.visitbenicia.org/content/benicia%E2%80%99s-unique-memorial-day-ceremony-honors-veterans This is the best Memorial Day Ceremony I've been to. We have music, speeches, laying of wreaths (even a pet plot is honored), fly overs by USAF, 21 gun salute and donuts at the end. The only boring bit is the poetry. The Cemetery is unique, old and sunken, shaded and lovingly tended. The flag flown only on that day is enormous. It was established in 1849.

Clearly laid out. Interesting to see German POWs buried in a corner. Intricate to find, but worth searching. Beautifully maintained.
