It's easy to miss the wooden sign indicating the turn off Hwy 281 for "Herb Mignery Country," but take the turn! Bartlett, Nebraska, only has 117 people, but on the Wheeler County courthouse square you will find thirteen bronzes cast by western artist and native son Herb Mignery. The largest attraction is "Silent Leather," a life-size equestrian statue. Take time also to examine the twelve table-top-size bronzes arranged around the garden. Wonderful work, in a lovely setting. County museum adjacent in the 1918 Italianate courthouse building. Pleasant city park adjacent.
