ataloa lodge museum

This small museum is located on the Bacone college campus. There are many interesting artifacts located here. The displays are primarily about the life of Indians in Oklahoma. We spent longer there than we had anticipated because we kept finding interesting things.

It is difficult to find Ataloa open, but definitely worth the effort if you enjoy Native American history.

If you are an Okie and never make your way to visit this wonderful museum and building on the campus of Bacone, then you are cheating yourself out of a great experience. We have gone through the museum several times and I never tire of seeing the art, artifacts and great collections. If you are a traveler on the Muskogee Turnpike or on I-40, then you need to go into Muskogee and to Bacone for a visit.
