The Chisholm Trail Heritage Center is a great place to take kids to see what life was like on the old Chisholm Trail. Besides nice displays of life on the frontier, there are interactive movies, special artist displays, and other special activities.

While the center is not very big, it is packed with many interesting things. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The art section is fantastic. There is also an interesting section for children.

This place never gets old, one must see the Chisholm trail movie. We live in the same town and visit it a few times a year. Kids will also love.

small, but was a hands on museum. very entertaining and informative. would recommend seeing it. the person at the info counter gave us a small tour and explained what we were about to see.

Its best to visit this place during art shows, I've been multiple times. They had made nice improvements to the small theater and the museum provides a great educational opportunity to teach about how cattle drivers lived

I have been here many times in my life, and I remember it surprising me the first time I came, as I didn't expect much from a small town old west museum. It is a very nice museum featuring both permanent exhibits and rotating local exhibits (such as artists or quilts.) I did not expect the museum to have so many interactive exhibits. There are 'video game' quizzes about the west for kids. Displays that allow you to lift doors, open drawers, pick up spoons, etc which triggers a humorous vocal response from a machine. Photo op spots are around the museum. There's a show that comes on every 15 minutes or so that has animatronics telling a story of some travelling cowboys. Probably my favorite is the 4D movie theater. You can smell the bacon cooking or feel the wind blowing during a show of cowboys herding their cattle. It also has a shop and several events throughout the year, including a film festival. The drawbacks of the place is that it's fairly small, so it is very quick to go through. It's also a little spendy on tickets ((but especially the shop.)) It still remains interesting after several visits, but there's rarely anything new other than the small room of rotating local pieces, so it's good to bring guests too, but not great to revisit on your own. I would definitely recommend a trip here if you're in the area!

...Because we became friends of the director, Cova Williams. But even this is plenty of signification, since we had not met Cova ever before...Nice.

This is a much better experience that you might expect in a small town. The theater (with effects) and the explanations of the Chisholm trail are excellent. (Chisholm was not the cattle owner and did not look like John Wayne). There is also quite a good art gallery

I drove 30 miles out of my way (from Hwy 281) to see this museum and it did not disappoint me! Interactive displays were fun for all ages. The IMAX-type film was super fun! It was all educational as well as fun! The art gallery with original paintings & sculpture was awesome. I have never seem Russell and Remington works in person before. Recommend for people of all ages! Especially if you grew up when Westerns were king of TV and movies.

Once you enter the drive it seems to be big in size and maybe like you could spend the whole day there. Upon entering you realize after you pay that there is little to do. At the beginning you see a display of a prairie that you would see out in oklahoma. There is various stuffed wildlife on this display with the feature of pressing a button to hear what they would sound like. Sounds cool enough but that is about the highlight of the museum. They do offer at a price of admission the opportunity to view what life would be like on a cattle trail and it also offers a real life experience with lights sounds and smells. ok this was really neat but that was it. the rest of the museum was a joke and a waste of time and money. I do not recommend driving very far to see this because you will be disappointed. The markings on the outside of the building was neat, it was a layout of the Chisholm Trail that leads up to a statue. this all can be done in under a hour.

We went to the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center on our way home from a winter in Arizona. I wished we had been able to have our grandkids with us. The two shows were so much fun. We felt the wind, rain, thunder and more just like the cowboys on the trail. The show presented a realistic view of what life on the trail was like, with humorous twists to make the history more enjoyable. We also enjoyed the Western art and the nod to Hollywood's idea of cattle drives. It represented well the many different lives that made the Chisholm Trail's history memorable.

This center takes you back to time where you feel like an integral member of the trail.Nice experience. I love the effects in the 15 minutes cinemas. Superb.Don't visit Duncan without coming here.

Great displays and interactive exhibits. Visitors from all over the world. Docents are very knowledgeable

Outstanding museum in southwest Oklahoma, perfect for all ages and family members, especially if they are interested in western heritage, culture or American history in general. Our docent was wonderful, very helpful, engaging and knowledgable. The theaters were great as well -- unique and a lot of fun.I also enjoyed the interactive displays that tested how well you would have fared "out on the range" as a trail boss. There is also a good gift shop -- try the "Cowboy Coffee," it is strong as you would expect, but surprisingly good. I very much enjoyed my visit to this museum, and would recommend it to others in the Duncan area.

This museum entertained my whole family aging from 2 to 50 years of age for 2+ hours. It is a hands on museum about cowboy life. They have a great show that takes you on a cattle drive, you see, feel hear and smell life on the trail. It was a great place.
