My wife and I are here often with our dogs. They have a very nice dog trail which is both woods and grass covered field path. They are supposed to be leashed, but if your dog is friendly, it should be able to run free and do. We also love to plow through the woods, exploring the ravines and creeks of which there are plenty. Also well maintained fields and shelters, including grills.

We love this place. So many different trails and lookout points in this park, Every trails has at least one look out point. We visit the park once a month and the park has something to offer every time we visit it. Is this a sight seeing spot? probably not, however, it is good place to visit after work or in the weekends. The park is well patrolled and maintained. TLDR: beautiful, clean, maintained suburban forest escape that is a nice place to visit.

this doesn't seem like the type of park that belongs on tripadvisor, as people that visit Columbus probably won't stop at any of the MetroParks (maybe with the exception of the ones along the Darby, because the Darby is a well known river for its aquatic health & freshwater mollusk diversity, and they have some Bison).if you're a business traveler in the northern columbus area, or use tripadvisor for local stuff, then it's worth visiting. it's a nice park with probably the best 'forest' trails in Columbus. It's not huge but you can wander around in the woods and feel like you're away from the suburban expanse of Columbus/Polaris, which is nice. It's also topographically about as interesting as Columbus gets, and the ravines, "highbanks", and river are pretty. Worth it for a few hours' walk or a jog or just hanging out in a regular park, but not worth a stop for a visitor to the Cbus.

Always enjoy going here. The park and trails are big enough that if you go on a run you're not constantly running into others.

This is the absolute best place to connect with nature in Columbus. It also has great running, hiking and walking paths; for dogs as well! Where else can you see wild turkey, pileated woodpeckers, deer, ..........on just about every visit? Take advantage of this invaluable resource!

Looking for a nice picnic or nature walk? Visit Highbanks! It is local to me; my family visits several times a year.HIghbanks is one of several Franklin County Metro Parks. Each has its own ambiance and worth a stop. Highbanks is aptly named. A mile walk out to the shale banks overlook about 100 feet above the Olentangy (pronounce the "g" like a "j") River is well worth your time and effort. The park is large. Parking is plentiful except on major holidays when it gets quite busy. It features several trails of varying lengths, picnic areas, a nature center, playground equipment and restroom facilities. You can spend anywhere from an hour to a full day and enjoy every minute. In addition to the overlook trail, other trails feature items like a meadow overlook and ancient earthworks, Strollers can traverse the trails but I would recommend a backpack or similar carrier for small ones. Most trails are easily hiked and not difficult.

Great park just north of all the hotels at I270 and US 23. A number of trails that range from paved to dirt for hiking or jogging from which you can see much diversity including the Olentangy State Scenic River and its cliffs; wildflowers; huge trees/forest; meadows; and two 2,000 year old Indian Mounds. There are also bathrooms, a nature center, picnic areas and playground for the kids.
