imperial glass museum

I am a glass collector. Glass and entertaining are very important to the females in my family. I grew up learning how to use certain pieces and how to care for them. Finding this museum was amazing. It is a very comprehensive collection of Imperial Glass. My family owns a great deal of it. It brought back so many memories of childhood. The volunteers at the museum really do a nice job of answering questions and they have a great resource library. I felt like I was able to take my time and really examine the pieces. I will be back. Great Job!

This past business used to be the biggest glass manufacturer under one roof in the world! I toured that factory years ago before union problems closed it for good...must see pieces that cannot be bought anywhere except from private owners.

The Imperial Glass Museum is operated by dedicated volunteers that sacrifice time, energy, and money to keep glass making history along the Ohio alive and vibrant. Beautiful displays of much of the glass produce in Bellaire are designed to educate and enlighten the museum visitor. Because the museum uses volunteers, the hours of operation are short. The museum is only open Thurs- Saturday from 11:00 to 3:00. It is well worth the 10 minute detour on Ohio 7 off I-70 if you are in the are at those days and time.
