We had a great day. Ended up with 16 fish and got to see so many fish being caught. The people working on the boat were very nice and helpful when needed

My husband and I took our 10 yr old grand daughter out on an all day trip. The crew were fantastic with helping. Every time she needed help they were on top of it so we could fish. They kept our bait filled, took the fish off for us. Made our trip wonderful. The captain actually came out on deck to help me get a a 16lb grouper pulled in so I would not loose my fish. This captain went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a good time and caught fish. The three of us caught three grouper range from 12to 16 lbs. this was the best trip ever and would highly recommend it to everyone that wants to catch fish. Thank you Captain and crew

My husband and I went out for our first ever experience deep sea fishing and we could not have chosen better. The captain and crew were very friendly and helpful. The other patrons were extremely friendly and helpful as we had no clue what we were doing. The day was so much fun and just flew by. We were fishing for Grouper mainly and the captain knows right where to take you. The crew measures each one caught to ensure they are fair to keep and will fillet anything you catch afterward for a small fee. Bait is available for a small fee and they do offer burgers for lunch and soda/water. It was a great day on the water and a great experience. We will definitely do this again. People have mentioned in other reviews I have read that there was a lot of cigarette smoking (which there was but you are outside- I don't smoke or care for it either but...) and foul language but again, it's mostly men doing their thing. If you go in expecting some younger guys possibly not paying attention to who is always around them and realize you may be within earshot of some less than desirable language at times, you will be fine. Let's face it - it's nothing any of us haven't heard before. Don't miss out on a great experience on a great boat with a wonderful captain and crew for such pettiness. We had a string of fish that we had filleted and will have for several meals and now have a great memory of a wonderful day. We smell smoke and hear cursing in church parking lots. :)

This is a Very Small boat with to many people (40+) on it! Trying to move around was a joke! Once the capt announced 'WHO EVER IS SMOKING POT NEEDS TO STOP' we knew we were on the wrong boat! Don't bring or use your GPS, b/c the fishing holes we went to didn't have any fish in them. We caught 8 fish all day long...We'll go back with capt. Anderson's in Panama City where the crew is more attentive and there is A LOT more room.

It helped that we caught a lot of fish but it would have been a great day anyhow. The captain moved the boat every time the bite slowed down and the crew was on top of things all day.We went for a full day, the weather was perfect and the trip was fun, that's all you can ask for.The $65 fee included our license, bait, equipment and of course the boat. We tipped the crew for their hard work on the outing. On the way back the crew filleted our catch for a very low price of 4 fish for a dollar. Our bill came to $13.

Top Notch OperationMy Miss Virginia fishing experience was excellent. I have been on at least three dozen other salt water “Day Fishing” boats up and down both coasts and the Miss Virginia is a top notch operation for sure, ranking at the very top of my "Best Boat" list. Small but highly professional. The boat Captain was confident, professional and knew where to go fishing. We caught lots of fish to include Grouper, Hogfish, Grunts and Snapper. The crew provided excellent service. Live bait was offered with a bucket and aerator at a very reasonable price. Plenty of cut bait as well. The galley service great. Overall my daughter and I had an excellent day, the weather was perfect, great boat and excellent Capt. and crew. Well done! Don't forget to "Just Reel" !

Very good trip, knowledgable captain, helpful crew and lots of fish! Boat was a little small we hade 21 ppl on the boat and it is rated for 60 I couldn't image much more ppl than what we had. Captain was just about catching fish as we were, as soon as the fish stopped biting he was moving the boat and right back out fishing with us! Cheeseburgers in the galley were pretty good too. Had prob. Close to 40 fish cleaned for $6. Would defiantly recommend this trip just watch out for crowded days.

This is the second trip with this company. Last year (April 2012) we went on "Two Georges" out of Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks. 85' boat, a lot of people. Still a great time,This time we went on the Miss Virginia out of Port Richey (by Catches Restaurant). Its $65. and you leave at 8:00 a.m. and come back at 400p.m.. The boat ride out and in is worth the money alone. All your fishing gear and bait is supplied. You can purchase live bait on board. The Crew will help you with anything you need. They do sell burgers and drinks at a reasonable price. You can bring your own food and drink if you like. Medium coolers are allowed. We actually didn't catch any fish on this trip as we were using our own bait that the grunts didn't come after. Saying that, we are planning our next trip. We are after grouper. There is open and closed seasons for the different groupers. We are going to plan 2 trips a year now. After July 1st , two of the groupers we want are both legal to catch. There is a size and limit on them also. If they are not legal size you have to throw them back-bring a camera. There isn't a lot you can do for only $65 and spend from 8-4 doing it. This is fun and a great day out,

Paid $65 a piece boat holds 40 passengers seems like they had 60 on board. No room to even breath or eat. Crew smoking in kitchen and cursing like crazy, half of the ship was throwing up and crew just kept on like everything was perfect. This boat was A MESS. Don't even waste your time or money.

If you have done this exact thing before, you know what to expect with 40 people using fishing rod on the same boat. I've been on a dozen or so and this one is definitely better than average. The crew on the boat was terrific! Helpful to a fault and friendly, most the time you didn't have to ask for help, they saw the need and were there before you asked. Take cash, they don't take credit cards. We didn't catch much on our trip, but none of the other boats did either that day. We went on a chilly day, slightly rough seas, cold water, and season closed on the one species we actually caught in good size (5+ pounds) and numbers. If you've never done this before, it can be a little too crowded (if full) and a tad uncomfortable, which if you don't enjoy the fishing can make for a long day. Food on board is very limited, beer just Bud and Bud light, so if you're picky, bring your own. Miss Virginia gets points there, because a lot of boats this size won't let you bring your own.
