Golf course is better than most in the area....I shoundn't have wanted a beer after 9! Went to the bar and I was shocked at how I was not greeted and then subjected to a tirade of nasty remarks and when I stated this, I was told I could leave! I complained to the Pro Shop and they know she is miserable and have had several complaints, but since the business is leased, they have no control over it. I was told the woman was the manager but I went back to the bar to share my feelings with her after golfing and she was not there. The waitress told me she was the owner!! Huh?? I'm shocked so I had to post this. If you just want to golf this is a good place......to bad about the bar lady. Husky with black hair. Nasty mean etc.......

Played this course today, the first few fairways were okay, after that the tee boxes were uncut, the fairways in bad shape, sand traps were raked, but some were wet. Greens had been aerated, then "sanded," - rolled fast, but not true. Rough was long, lost many balls. On the whole I'd wait another three/four months and see if it improves. Restaurant next door was closed permanently, so no food or drinks. Very disappointed.

Restaurant/bar area very attractive. As a patron whose dined here for several years, I will say that the restaurant used to be much better....the economy & new owners may have taken it's toll. They no longer have the extensive menu they had. Once upon a time they had an impressive menu and fabulous food. Now, just go & enjoy the bar & bistro menu. You will find that they are probably a server short, so service is a bit slow....but the wait-staff is hard-working and will try to please. Setting is upscale attractive.

Enjoyed the golf, entered into the mix for a golf scramble, which we enjoyed. However after wards we - nine of us - hit the restaurant and first off were told that they were out of YingLing beer, WTH? Second: we were informed there was only one waiter, okay so we could live with a little slow service. Two hours later, and only one hamburger in the bunch - mostly salads! We were ready to leave when we were told to go to the cash register to pay - we then counted five Staff wandering around! Very disappointed in the slow service.

This is a nice laid back place to golf and eat. The course is not hard for average golfers. The restaurant has had its ups and downs over the years, but continues to strive to be a local's favorite eating spot. Dynamite outdoor eating area works well for the natural surroundings which include wandering Sand Hill Cranes.

Lovely European restaurant situated on the golf course. Excellent service and well prepared entrees although a bit on the skimpy side.

My two sisters made reservation at the Lakeside G&CC, I was a little hesitant about the place because I heard the restaurant has gone a little downhill also my sisters are from Palm Beach and Ft Meyers so a good quality establishment was essential. We were seated immediately upon arrival and started our visit with drinks. The place was a little vacant, only 2 other groups of people and it was a Saturday evening @ five. The waitress was friendly and professional, we ordered our dinner and was pleasantly surprised how delicious my meal was and so we're my two sisters. My Dad (88) who is usually hard to please when out dining was also happy with his choice. Overall , I will be back to Lakeside and will spread the word on how ggod the service and food we're. Four adults with drinks under $100.00 .......pretty good!

Golf today was fun, the course is in excellent shape, there were only a couple of greens that needed some sprucing up, the rest were spot on. Fairways were great, but one of two of the tee boxes needed additional work. Greens were fast, very fast. You'll love a couple of the dog-leg holes which takes an exceptional player to navigate. Early morning is a little tough with the sun in your eyes for the first two holes then things calm down. Watch for the gator at the pond at Hole #11, he shouldn't bother you but the turtles will as they charge up looking for a handout. A fun day.

Been staying here on and off for 5 or 6 years, the golf course has been improving every year,the villa accommodation is 1st class and can't fault the service and meals we have had in the club restaurant. Must make one comment,why do some people as the previous reviewer think that bulking a plate with food makes for a better meal, go and eat at a Denny's if that's what your after. Our last nights meal was a filet, and was cooked to perfection.

never will return and have home down the street small portions for what they charge husband left not a happy camper. my salad was soaked in dressing, husband was like where's the meat portions were so smally, you are paying for the atmosphere will never return

Affordable for multiple outings per week. Nice layout of course. Modest challenge. Best to go out early, rains often in the summer afternoons, winter is great! Restaurant could be better but plenty of good restaurants within 6 miles.

Play this course alot since its local. Its one of the better course in the area IMO. The greens are normally in good shape and the fairways maintained well. The restraunt on site is on point. Good beer special and great food. Also cheap prices.

Went to Lakeside last Friday night. What a beautiful place and what a disappointment. We sat on the lanai at sunset, the waitress was very helpful and pleasant. Then before we got our meal we had to move inside because a couple next to us were smoking. Since I am allergic to smoke if I didn't move I would have been sick. At that point if the waitress wasn't so nice we would have cancelled our food and left. We moved inside and even though the place was empty we were seated at a six top that could've fit eight; there were only 2 of us. The bench and table were so far apart I had to sit almost Indian style. We were told it was primarily a Dutch community, people from Europe smoke alot and are allowed to on the lanai. The place was dead empty except for two private parties on the lanai....all in all this could be jamming on a Friday evening. Won't be back.

This was the former Van der Valk flagship dining room at the Van der Valk USA resort. It used to be one of the best European style restaurants in the area with impeccable service and outstanding food combined with an excellent wine list.. Well, the dining room atmosphere has been downgraded; the white linen tablecloths are gone and a lot of the furniture has also gone missing so the room seems bare and financially strapped. Our server was distracted having to work the main dining room plus the infpormal bar area on the other side of the buildingHowever, we are told the chef is still there and there are still many familiar tlems on the menu. The food is still very good and we loved the "surf and turf" with a large Atlantic lobster tail. Steaks are good. The wine list is mediocre, to be generous. with no European wines on the list. The best wine value is a Washington State Merlot which was quite acceptable.
