Well, it was colder than planned (but not their fault, certainly) and we saw only one gator (again, not their fault). However, from the onset, there was a problem. The reservation was made a day in advance and we were told to be there early and wait at the river side. We arrived at least 45 minutes early and about 30 minutes prior to our appointment, I received a telephone call from the person who booked it telling us that there had been a mistake and she had overbooked and we might not be accommodated. Then, we were told that the original captain was on his way and would meet us there. And then we were told that a substitute captain had been arranged. Now, none of this really bothered me (or our party much), but when the captain showed up, he was as unsightly as you can imagine. And it was obvious that this was a "contract" captain who was filling in. He had his own boat with his own name on it. Again, none of that really bothered us. But, wait, there's more. He was particularly filthy: his shorts were unclean, his feet were dirty. Again, none of this really bothered us. But, he was particularly inappropriate. He told jokes that were off color (how did he know that we were not Mormons?); he smoked (how did he know that we did not suffer from tobacco allergies); and, when it appeared it might rain, he offered several times to "just go back, after all, it's your trip in this cold." To his credit, we did pull under a bridge and wait for the short rain to stop. And we did see quite a bit of interesting wildlife (cows on the water, water foul, etc). But when I told him that I had to pee, he told me I could just stand up or "piss in my pants, for all he cared." So, that's when my opinion was formed. And, then, when were returned, he told us of the patron who gave him a $100 tip because she enjoyed the trip so much.In the final analysis: cold, rain, no gators--not really their fault (although when I go trout fishing, I expect the guide to know where the trout are). Poor manners, poor presentation, and mostly, just a disgusting person, entirely their fault. Would I use them again? Probably, but I would not want this particularly captain? HIS NAME WAS CAPT RAY.

Went with Captain Johnny and he knows his stuff. Our trip was great, John showed us different kinds of wildlife. He is knowledgeable on the history of the area. He treated everyone great took a group photo for us, he would stop and tell us about how gators and other wildlife live and their habits. The boat ride is amazing if you've never done it I would highly recommend it.We were a group of six and with John you get a personal touch not like airboat buses we seen. Our next time we are in Florida we would go again. Thank You John for one of the highlights of our vacation.

We had a fantastic time! Started off looking at wildlife, stopped a couple times to hear about the area, and enjoy the serenity and beauty. After seeing numerous gators (and cows!), we gained some speed on the ride back, and had some fun with the boat.

Old Fashion has the best air boat experience you will find. From the phone call to make reservations too making sure we had directions to continue our trip, these folks are most accommodating. Capt Freddy is very knowledgeable and makes sure of a fun time. Lots of wildlife and a stop in a cypress swamp where Capt explains the whole deal. 90 minute tour with the best prices, can't be beat.

Old Fashioned Airboats was an awesome tour! I definitely recommend this outfit for your airboat ride. If you're in central Florida and want to have a one of a kind experience, give these guys a call. They were the best price with the longest tour which was 90 minutes. We went on a day when the river was extremely swollen which made it difficult to see gators, but Capt. Freddy still managed to find them for us. We will do this tour again when we're in the area again! John from New Jersey

Do not hesitate to book with this company! Captain Johnny was awesome. He was personable, knowledgeable and fun! We saw lots of wildlife and gators. The river water level was up which helped our experience as well. Can't wait to do it again on our next trip to Florida.

we went on a 1 and half hour ride with captain freddy on 01/06/2014 and it was incredible he's a really knowledgeable man when it comes to his job and hes a really nice guy aswell. we seen easily in excess of 80 aligators possibly pushing 100 our boat was attacked by one of around 9 to 10ft long captain freddy knew exactly where she was going to e as was coming to mating season but he was even shocked himself when she attacked the boat it was unbeliveable. we seen 2 well over 10ft lomg clashing ove the carcus of what looked like a small bird, we seen lots of other wild life various types of birds and alot of cattle. overall the experience was out of this world. I can not reccomen this company highly enough it certainly is a must do!!!

Had an appt at 2 but captain Freddy was nice enough to wait until 2:30 since we had a delay. Every one else already mentioned the personal tour, fun, 90 mins long. We didn't see a lot of alligators like others have mentioned but maybe it's the time of year or time of day. Captain Freddy didn't give up and we got to see some small and big ones. It was not a cold day but the boat goes super fast so definitely wear a jacket because it gets cold and glasses help against the wind in your face. No sandals. My toes were super cold.

Captain Lonnie is who took us out for the air boat ride. We had 4 adults; the boat holds 6, plus the captain, so we had lots of room. Lonnie gave us ear muffs to wear, which helped alot. The airboat goes pretty fast so even though it was a warmer day when we were there, it still got cold, so a jacket is recommended. Also, tight fitting sun glasses would be good to help with the wind in your eyes. It was beautiful, thrilling, and everyone had a great time, even my hubby who was skeptical at first. We saw hundreds of gators, up close, and also many bald eagles, free range cattle, water birds, and even what looked like a water mocassin swimming in the river nearby. We had an 11:00 reservation, but being we were there and so was the Captain, he took us early at 10:30 - we ended up staying on the tour for a full 2 hours without him charging us anymore. He even stopped a couple of times and shut the boat off so we could just take it all in. There was a nice spot that was back inside a woods where it was picturesque. It was amazing and would HIGHLY recommend! We had seen another more commercialized airboat company out there, but I have to say, I feel like this is the real-deal. Our Captain was local, and it was like being taken out for a boat ride with a friend, not like a business. We learned alot and really enjoyed ourselves.

Had a wonderful outing with Captain Johnny Long. 90 minutes of pure fun. Captain Johnny is the best. Great wildlife and humor. It was our second time, we look forward to returning again. This is a must do adventure.
