ravisloe country club

This is not about the golf, which we have not tried. This is a new supper club-like event at this country club location. Went to my first jazz event at Ravislow Country Club in December, 2014 for a Christmas Jazz show, actually my first visit to this club. This with wife and adult daughter. The jazz trio sponsored by a group called Tru-Muse Productions out of Evanston, Illinois was excellent, playing all the Christmas standards and some new ones. A limited menu dinner was available and optional. We each selected a favored main dish and were not disappointed, this was more of a pleasant supper club event, not crowded. The club apparently goes back to the early 1900's. Some might call it "old", but we see it as having a lot of "atmosphere", clean, well kept-up, like stepping back into an earlier supper club era like you see in the movies.Overall, a very pleasant evening, very close to home in a south suburban Chicago area that has very limited events of this kind, compared to Chicago's northern suburbs that overflow with entertainment of every type. Tru-Muse advertises future events of this type at this location through April, 2015, and into Summer, 2015, and we will be sure to go - Highly recommended.

Our foursome golfed here and had a great time. The course was in excellent condition and the Donald Ross course was a real challenge, even from the hybrid tees. The greens are very complex and a test of your putting skills. Water, trees, length of holes, etc. are all positioned to challenge even the best golf game. The grill was super for lunch and the bar servers were quite friendly. I will definitely return here sometime.
