Great location in Beautiful Downtown Homewood, fantastic food including my favorite Tamales! Great Barbecue selection, fun environment, down home in Downtown.

I have only been to the Twisted Q in Steger/S, Chicago Heights. The food is tasty, but a little pricey (just a little), I think. It's not really a good place to eat in. A couple of booths, very small.

There have always been good restaurants in downtown Homewood, but few have been as delightfully different as the Twisted Q. And no other serves great cupcakes along with great BBQ.While heavy with barbeque entrees, the eclectic menu offers everything from burgers and Italian beef to white chili (no beef or tomato) and burnt ends chili ("scraps that don't make it to your sandwich"), and the "Dirty Dog", a hot dog smothered in pulled pork.Platters come with two sides; sandwiches with one side. The sides themselves are worth a visit. Tasty offerings include "Hot And Dirty Fries" (smothered in spicy pork and nacho cheese), and "Twisted Tamale" (pulled pork and cheese sauce layered with corn pudding). If you don't want pork or cheese, the corn pudding can be ordered by itself as a side, and adds a lot of flavor to your meal, as does the calico beans, a medley of different beans, served hot. If you have room for dessert, there's a separate bakery selection to finish your meal. If not, you can still get something to take home for later. All food is available to go, which is especially handy for commuters getting off the Metra at the nearby Homewood station, but it's also nice to eat in the pleasant atmosphere of the dining room.A plate of ribs, a sandwich, or a brownie---they're all there at the Twisted Q.
