After a long visit to the Little White House we had a picnic on Dowdells Knob, very relaxing and fun. Took a little hike and explored. Peace and serenity.

We rented one of the two bedroom cabins that was on the lake. Many of the other cabins are under renovation. I look forward to those being completed. The cabin was spacious and clean with plenty of cooking utensils for a great self catering stay. The park has beautiful views and is very close to Callaway Gardens. The rangers were cheerful and quite helpful. Next time we will plan to stay longer

We have camped at FDR State Park many times. There are several nice things to do nearby and the campground and park are nice. We especially enjoy the nearby Pine Mountain Trail. Also, beautiful Calloway Gardens is only a couple of miles away.

We love FDR State Park. We love all of the miles and miles of hiking trails there are plus we are Geocachers so having so many geocaches on the trails gives us that little bit more motivation. FDR State Park is a great place to camp as well. Perfectly located right in the middle of Warm Springs and Pine Mountain makes getting around to these historic locations easy. You have to go and see FDR State Park.Read more about our Geocaching Adventures at FDR State Park here: http://www.peanutsorpretzels.com/geocaching-fdr-state-park-pine-mountain-ga/

Great views and nice place to picnic. Camp sites and cabins looked nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful - full of knowledge. Can't wait to go back and spend a few days in one of the cabins!

Great camping and cabins! The views are awesome! 40 plus miles of trails with hundred or so caches! The trails are awesome! The history here is also very neat! Pup had nice level lots with power and water. Store open late for soda and wood and such! Staff was amazing! Fish in the last are huge! Stop reading and book!

F.D. Roosevelt State Park is a 9,049 acre Georgia state park located near Pine Mountain and Warm Springs. We hiked a large portion of the popular Pine Mountain Trail which winds through hardwoods and pines in a very comfortable setting a beautiful area. The trail is set in easy rolling mountains just 80 miles southwest of Atlanta. Several park amenities were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression and the visitors store / office has a nice video and other items which tell the story. One of the items they built was the Liberty Bell Swimming Pool fed by cool springs - it was closed when I visited but it looks awesome and I plan a summer visit just to try it out. Privately operated stables offer guided horseback rides and you can bring your own, of course, we saw several riders and this is a horse lovers park. FDR came to this part of Georgia to swim in naturally warm springs that offered relief from polio. Today, nearby Roosevelt’s Little White House Historic Site invites visitors to see his modest home, a museum and the pools that first drew him here.Just three miles away is the very excellent town of Warm Springs - it has several hip and good local restaurants and stores - make time for a stop and eat local on your visit.

Hiking, camping, and history - at the largest state park in GA. What more could you ask for! 25 miles of hiking trails, cabins for rent or camp ground for tents / RVs. Close to Warm Springs - home of President Roosevelt's Little White House and pools. The southern tip of the Appalachians offers views for miles from Dowdell's Knob along with other lesser known vantage points, so be sure to take your camera! Enjoy!!

Recommend for natural beauty. Campground is nice. Lake beautiful. Many hiking trails. A great place to take the kids to teach them how to fish or canoe.

Great museum. We didn't know much about Franklin Roosevelt but the museum was interesting. The park was a great place to picnic. Beautiful mountains. Glad we were told how long the trails were and got a map.
