Panorama's fried apple pies are made on sight, and are not full or dipped in extra sugar, so they are also healthier. Their sugar-free fried pies are also excellent. Their apples are good, and they have wonderful homemade ice cream. Right off Hwy. 515 on the right one mile before Ellijay city limits.

We've lived in north Georgia for the past 24 years. We always visit Panorama Orchard and Farm Market at least a couple times a year. There are always great apples, jarred items, veggies and warm apple pies to enjoy while there. A peck or bushel of apples, jar of apple butter, some tomatoes, jars of jams and jellies and salsa are always available for the picking of your choice.

They have walls and walls of things like sweet onion relish, green tomato relish, chow chow, marinated muchrooms, and on and on. Their products are much better than you'll find at a grocery store in Atlanta. They have a wide selection of honey. There is a really big sampling area. Try the sorghum syrup on a cracker. I was surprised at how tasty it is. These things are available all year. They'll have apples and fruits when in season. Service is very friendly.

Easy on/off Old 5. They typically have a nice selection of fruit as well as fried pies. Some cute gifts as well. My kids love their cider.

A common autumn daytrip for residents of central and north Georgia is a car trip through the mountains from Ellijay to Dahlonega, Georgia. It's a beautiful trip in the fall when the leaves are turning (usually mid-October to early November), and added attractions are the numerous stores along the highways that sell apples, apple cider and fried apple pies. The best of these stores in the opinion of my wife and myself is the Panorama Orchards store located just off GA Highway 515 on the southern edge of Ellijay. The store has a very country vibe with lots of rough-hewn timbers and several wide-open front doors opening onto a large parking lot. Inside you will find lots of cider and unique baked goods like applesauce bread. But, perhaps the best of the pastry-type treats here are the fried apple pies, available sugar-free and regular. (If you get the pies that are not sugar-free, just forget about your diet for a few days. You won't be able to eat just one fried pie.) Both kinds of fried pies are delicious.Make Panorama your first stop on your daytrip to this area, and then make the drive to Dahlonega along Georgia Highway 52. Beautiful in the fall. One caution: weekend traffic in this area can be truly awful. Go on a weekday if your schedule allows, and don't get in a hurry.
