Lovely place to go for a walk any time of the day! You can also enjoy the view of the city of Vigo from the top of the mount and at the same time appreciate the sunset

Beautiful large park on top of a hill with stunning Vigo views. Lots of benches, shade under old crooked trees, people enjoying a quiet moment, reading or sometimes playing the harp. The atmosphere is great ! On the lower level, two playground areas providing fun for children from 0 to 14. And the most surprising part being the mini-bike route with operating traffic lights and stops : kids adore it ! You can even see antique celtic huts on one side of the park.

On a recent cruise stop we decided to wander through the town and to the top of this fort. The entrance to the fort is approximately 15 minutes walk uphill from the cruise terminal - through the oyster market or shopping centers. It then took us approximately 30 minutes and what must have been hundreds of steps up to the top of the hill. Was it worth it? Absolutely. Even though we visited in November, the skies were clear and the views amazing. Great photo op. You can see straight down to the port, to the cruise ship and across the bay, over the tops of all the buildings - lovely.Lots of evergreen trees and an abundance of places to sit. The steps are in stages with plenty of places to stop and catch your breath! We spent a further 30 minutes walking around the old fort and celtic settlement before heading back to do some shopping in town. Going back is a lot easier! You absolutely must be prepared for a lot of uphill walking and steps so wear comfy shoes.

Visited this park / old fort on a recent cruise stop. It is a bit of a climb through the hilly town and up a lot of steps but the vistas once you get there are worth the effort. You will have a great view od the cruise ship, bay and town roofs as well as enjoying the gardens and ancient walls. There are a few seats where you can recover from the exertions and prepare yourself for the ascent down. Check out our snaps.

This parque offers the best view of the city and the beautiful Cíes Islands, it's a small climb from the city centre.

We visited Vigo on the cruise ship, Oasis of the Seas (largest in the world). We had a great view of the ship and the 3 harbor areas of Vigo from the old fort. Then we walked down the hill and through the Celtic ruins and the old city before arriving back at the cruise port.

We visited this park which is located in a hill in the center of the city and views were fantastic! There are several scenic lookout points throughout this beautiful botanical park and fortress. This was the birthplace of the city. Well worth visiting!

Well worth the climb - 'pencil in' a morning or afternoon here. Popular with cruise goers too when their ship calls at the nearby deep-water port.

Large castle park in and around the defensive walls. Parking nearby, nice playgrounds for the children. Also an old Celtic settlement. Very green.

It is a place of peace and quiet that is especially enjoyable for singles and couples who seek to relax. You can also call it retreat area from the busy and noisy city. The park is very green and in really good condition.small disadvantage: all the steps and climbing up, but for the nice view it will pay off!

beautiful park with lovely views over the city, but very steep hills, as is the whole city. the park has beautiful flower gardens and various monuments, mostly in remembrance of the local sailors and fishermen

Green pleasant nicely laid out but would question whether it's worth the uphill climb from the city centre.

Vigo doesn't have many sites but we enjoyed our day at the park. There are a lot of little trails you can take to get up to the top, and there is a fort with a cute little garden and views over Vigo, the port and the islands. Nice to hang out on a sunny day.

For clarification, this and Castro Fortress are the same (although the parque covers more ground). Good hike up the hill, there are places you can rest. After last set of stairs from the front, take the road to your right and follow around to the entrance (free) which is in the rear. Grounds are well maintained. Plenty of picture ops. Good thing to do if you come by ship for the day and want to explore the city. You might want to save your wine/beer stops until after your hike!

It is well worth the walk up the hill to admire the beautifully presented gardens, statues, monuments, fountains and most of all, splendid views. If you go directly, there are also many steps, but walk around the road and enter it from the far side is a bit easier. There is also a cafe at the far entrance. There is also no charge to enter
