Currently closed due to restorations nevertheless a mind boggling experience expecially if you read about the mathematics and geometry used to calculate the accuracy of drilling for this ancient tunnel. Worth a visit but check availability before.

I was so thrilled to be there as my late father had told me about visiting the tunnel in 1943 when posted on Samos during WW2....it was not a Visitor Hot Spot in those days!!!

We have to say "average" because the tunnel was and will be closed for visitors till sometime next year due to ongoing work. The plan is to make the whole tunnel lenght available for visitors, instead of the previous "70 meters only"

Not terrible to see of course, terrible because we couldn't see it! A pity that wasn't mentioned in the guide books

Not for the claustrophobic but worth a visit. Visited last year but closed this year (2014). Check opening times.

We were advised this sight was closed as they are trying to open up a larger area for visitors to walk through. Unfortunately information is not publicised too well - we were advised by our hotel reception staff - although there is a notice pinned at the road junction just before it. However, it's a bit late then if you've made a special trip to see it.

The tunnel is presently closed as it is being refurbished. No one seems to tell the museums who continue to give out information and promotional material!

It may be a miracle of ancient engineering, but there is no single sign, explanation, guidance or employee that knows anything and willing to inform us. The Greek state is falling apart. Pity

We found out from the Eurocar rental office in Pythagorus by accident. Because the information centre...is also...CLOSED!This was the ONE site we were looking forward to visiting.

We looked forward to seeing the attraction. Unfortunately it was closed for maintenance and there seemed to be extensive repair work going on here so do check before you visit to save a wasted journey this summer.

One of the most beautiful sights on Samos.. I've been there couple of times and loved it every time.. Sure will go again :) It's a must to visit.

Worth visitiing this place which shows how water was carried from a spring in the mountain all the way to Pythagorion area thousands years ago...Check the timetable before going there!

Fantastic and for sure not to miss visit next to the Monestry of Spiliani. The water tunnel build by ING.MR. Spiliani totaly true a mountain with help of architects RICOS and Theodoris who later also did build a part of the temple of Hera and after that a part of Effesis in Turkeye

Once in Samos, go and visit. The island itself is not one of the nicest out of all Greek islands so its nice to see everything cos you will hardly return to the island. Visit - Heraion, Pythagorios cave, waterfalls, Tunnesl of Euplinos. When we went to the tunnel first time, it was closed due to strike. So we had to come back again. It was nice experience but do not expect a lot. Its interesting for sure.

If you're expecting a roller-coaster type attraction, then this is not for you. But it is a fascinating site when you consider the feat of engineering it was two and a half thousand years ago. Very atmospheric, but be advised to wear sensible footwear - the rocks can be slippery in the tunnel. I found it fascinating; so pleased I took the time to visit and the courage to enter.
