Lovely exhibit and very nicely done movie about Klimt in the Attersee area. A "trail" follows the lake front with more information, created by the museum.

Plenty of material in English as well as German. Good film telling the story of Klimt's love for and paintings of Attersee

The small but beautifully designed gallery shows just the right mix of original artwork, explanation and related material to give an understanding of Klimt's relationship with the Attersee region. The film (with English sub-titles) puts paintings and settings together in a visually interesting way. Sailing to Kammer, walking the Klimtweg to Seewalchen and returning by boat makes an excellent excursion.

I can vouch for those with favorable comments about the Gustav Klimt Zentrum. The 'museum' is tiny compared to those massive cathedrals of art in the big cities, but it works perfectly. You can take in Klimt's life, loves, postcard penchants and artwork in about 90 minutes. (Deeper thinkers are welcome to take the entire day.) A suggestion: Do the museum in late morning then, weather allowing, drive the entire circumference of Lake Attersee, returning to Schoerfling for a lovely lunch at the Zentrum cafe. Your museum ticket entitles you to 1 euro subtracted from your order. And the 'frankfurter' is excellent, especially the freshly shredded horseradish. Overall a perfect day trip.

Gustav Klimt was, beyond any doubt, one of the greatest painters. His talent and his exceptional point of view are expressed very well on his paintings of the Attersee and surroundings, where he used to spend his summer vacations. The Gustav Klimt-Zentrum in Schoerfling provides the visitors with a comprehensive picture of the excellent integration of Klimt and Attersee. It's a small museum dedicated to a great painter. Don't miss the outstanding film, and after the visit take a seat in the nice cafe on first floor overlooking the lake Attersee. If you like the works of Klimt,It is impossible not to like them, you may buy some nice reproductions at Kathe Zwach Galerie, 3 minutes by car.

Klimt painted at Lake Attersee for many years. This museum has it all -- his works, information on his life, and an outdoor Klimt trail with kiosks positioned in places where Klimt would have stood while creating his works.

Eine sehr gute Dokumentation des Künstlers. Interessant ist der FILM!!! Unbedingt ansehen.
