after having seen so many mosques on this trip in Turkey and Iran, this one, although picturesque especially from afar, didnt impress me too much but its worth the walk by!

Visited this Mosque as we could see it's Minaret whilst walking around Kyrenia harbour. It is up a cobbled street the castle end of the harbour and if you walk in the direction of the minaret you can't miss it.It dates back to the 14th Century and is made of attractive stone with a green lattice frontage. Next to the entrance is the usual Mosque wash-room and then a few old steps up to the mosque entrance, (Note: Take your shoes off and respectfully cover yourself properly if entering the mosque). Inside the mosque it is very small and there is not much to see at all. You need 5-10 minutes here maximum but worth a look-see anyway. There are a couple of old wooden benches against the wall opposite the mosque's entrance so you can have a rest here if you like before continuing to explore the rest of Kyrenia.

Located on Agha Cafer Pasha street, the most is an impressive build made of hewn stone. It is the biggest house of worship amongst the three town mosques, with the smaller Yazicizade and Acemzade mosques located in the Turkish quarter in upper Girne. The Agha Cafer Pasha Mosque was built in lower Girne was done so upon the wish of the Cyprus Governor (Tax Collection Clerk), Agha Cafer Pasha, during 1589-90, and a primary school was built next to it. There is a minaret in it's northwest corner where there is a marble inscription with Agha Cafer Pasha's history.
