We had to hunt around for the fountain and it was not in the best of states. I think visitors to the neighbouring mosque now have purpose-built ablutions within the mosque, so the fountain is falling into disrepair.

This is a square fountain with a barrel vault and reservoir in the southeast of the Agha Cafer Pasha Mosque. Visitors of the mosque who pray are able to complete ablution using this fountain. In the marble inscription below the three arches tells us that it was constructed on 16th November 1841 during Hasan Kavizade Huseyin Efendi's time. The steps next to the fountain were built by the last Ottoman Provincial Governor, Cemel Bey and the last Ottoman Mayor, Abdul Efendi.
