I have stoped at this place feew times trough the years and it is always nice. Interesting information about one of Icelandic great writers Gunnar Gunnarsson, his life, writing and dreams.The house is interesting, one of it's kind in Iceland.But the iceing on the cake is defenetly the coffe and cakes that you can enjoy there, home made Icelandic style made from local ingreetients by the local people.Just remember to look up the opening hours if you are traveling off high seson (sept-mai)

We came here accidentally and we're happily surprised by the cafe. The food was tasty and well prepared. Excellent value for the money. I can only recommend this place.

Learned a lot about Gunnar Gunnarsson, the history of the monastery ruins nearby, and the history of Iceland in general from visiting this museum. A really friendly and knowledgeable man guided us through the different artifacts throughout the museum. You can even touch the different volcanic ashes! Worth a visit if you're interested in Icelandic culture and history. The restaurant that is located in the lower part of the building is excellent, too.

I had 3 servings of the mushroom soup. Home made bread, overviewing the countryside from the location. Servers were really friendly, spoke with a strong accent and were accommodating.

Maten var utsøkt og variert og betjeningen var hyggelig og hjelpsom. Stedet i seg selv med sitt spesielle steinhus er en reise verdt.

Kultur- und Begegnungsstätte mit interessant aufbereiteter Ausstellung über den Dichter Gunnar Gunnarsson (in dessen von 1939 errichtetem Wohnhaus), mit Wissenswertem zur Geschichte aller Klöster in Island und zu den in unmittelbarer Umgebung stattgefundenen Ausgrabungen der ursprünglichen Klostermauern;(Für Literaturinteressierte: bietet sich auch ein Besuch des Wohnhauses von Halldór Laxness in Mosfellsbaer - am Goldenen Circle - an)Im Klausturkaffi gibt es die Möglichkeit gut Kaffee zu trinken & Kuchen zu essen; bei schönem Wetter auch draußensitzend; in diesen Genuss sind wir leider nicht gekommen.

Este é um lugar onde escritores vêm buscar inspiração.É bonito com montanhas à volta, perto tem ruinas de um antigo convento (!)A paisagem é fenomenal, está num vale entre duas magestosas montanhas. Recomendo
