I visited the Northam Visitor Centre yesterday and was very impressed. Not only were the staff very friendly and helpful, but they have a great knowledge of the area and it's history. The centre has a very cool display about the European immigrants who came to the region after WW2, and also a range of maps, books, local jewwllery and products etc. A great place to visit.

The Northam Visitor Centre is an asset for the town. The assistants are very knowledgeable and the displays well presented. I urge any newcomers to Northam and surrounds to visit the centre.

Stopped here for some local information whilst on a day trip to York, Northam and Toodyay. Staff here were helpful and provided a local map with details of sites of interest. Also gave directions on how to reach the old railway station. The visitor centre is conveniently located next to the river and the suspension bridge, which is more modern than the on in York.

Definitely 5 stars! Its the most dedicated visitor's centre I have come across whilst touring WA and I could not fault it. It sends the message "We want you to visit us and come back again". Plenty of area for parking the largest of caravans where you can hook up to power and water for free. Great clean amenities if you want to shower or toilet. Fantastic view overlooking the river whilst dining. Beautiful walkways and plenty of grassed area with swings for the kid's. Definitely a family friendly set up with friendly staff who do everything they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Moving to this wonderful Avon Valley location from the eastern states for work I have attended the tourist information twice now and found the staff extremely helpful, particular young Kate (well relatively young when considering my age - lol).Managed to have my questions answered, purchased some interesting local products for Christmas presents for family back home and then enjoyed a coffee at the adjoining café, 'Riversedge'. One of the best tourist visitor centres I have visited. Keep it up.

This Saturday we did a little day trip to Northam. Arrived at Visitor Centre to get some info, waited actuall for 30 mins and nobody came back even though little note mentioned to be back in '2 mins' - very dissappointed. We did not know that Northam is overrun with visitors so that they do not have to care for them.

Two staff in attendance, one very helpful the other had poor attitude! We were looking for cloth souvenir badges, we were told they no longer stocked such items, but we were not offered alternatives or directed to another in town outlet.

Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Good first stop for new visitors to the Avon valley and Northam. Has small but interesting range of souvenirs and gifts to suit most budgets
