Our fishing charter was for 8 people full day. The fish weren't biting which was no fault of the captain but for the amount we paid it was disappointing. However, the captain was so, SO rude to some members of our party that it ruined the experience. He was rude and harsh without provocation when the members of our group were honestly just doing their best. For the amount of money we paid we honestly expected more friendly service and a better catch. Disappointing and completely undeserved- it's unrealistic to expect people on fishing charters to know exactly what they're doing and with certain members if our party he had very little patience.

Completed a 1/2 day tour which included tea/coffee/biscuits. Travelling at the beginning of the season it was a bit hit and miss with the actual fishing but we still managed to catch a few fish. Host was friendly and helpful. Would recommend a 1/2 day tour over a full day one. NOTE: being a small boat the bathroom facilities are limited.

Three of us booked a private charter with Kathryn M expressly to catch spanish mackerel on 17 June. The owner/skipper has a reputation for being able to find these fish and in that we were not disappointed. Two of the party hooked up and successfully landed a spanish each. However, when the next fish took a line, the owner/skipper grabbed the rod and wound in the fish. The third member of our party had no chance to either catch, or keep a spanish mackerel. The charter cost $600 a half day. There were no apologies, and when we protested we were informed that we would not be taken out again. Re catering on the boat: tea or instant coffee, water, maybe some soft drinks, and a couple of biscuits. There is a toilet, it is very tiny and hard to get into and out of and not very private. There were many private phone calls (see previous review) by the owner/skipper. He also spent a lot of time talking about his problems with Council, competitors, visitors, people who book charters and others in general, which did not make for a happy outing .Draw your own conclusions!
