We booked a morning fishing charter with Kerry D in November as we had heard that they were the best in Karumba and that was certainly the case. Our hosts were fantastic, the boat was clean and professional, morning tea (soft drinks, water, tea/coffee, fruit cake and chips) was good and plentiful and we fished both out in the Gulf of Carpentaria and in the Norman River. No one on the boat caught much on the day we went, although to be fair to Kerry D Charters, the tidal charts for that weekend said that it wasn't going to be a good weekend for fishing. However, my husband had not caught anything over size all morning, so our hosts stayed out an extra half hour so that he could try and get something. This was completely unnecessary but most appreciated.Forget Kathryn M with its promise of food on the website but not providing any and the host that complains the whole time and go instead with the great folks from Kerry D who will make sure you have a great time no many how many fish you do or don't catch.

I have been on many fishing charters over the years and have always found the skippers to be arrogant, self centred and generally hard to deal with therefore I had second thoughts about taking my wife. That was not the case with Kerry D. As soon as we met the young lady at the boat ramp the feeling was relaxed and very easy going. There was only five passengers on that afternoon, three lady's, two men and of course the Skipper Darryl who was one of the nicest young men I have met in a long time. Darryl helped us with our baiting and landing of our catch, telling us all about the fish we had caught. He was extremely knowledgeable with the local area and had some of his own funny tales to tell, even helped us set up for the best pictures so we could brag to friends and family. We had the best day fishing ever with lots of fun and banter between us all and as always the girls caught the most. So As I Said It's All About Darryl...Many thanks for a top day out...
