We spent 1.5 hours here on the sunchairs next to the kids area. We weren't even tempted to go swimming in one of the many pools (including an Olympic sized pool) because when we got too hot lazing around in the sun, we'd wander out into the kids area and cool down with the various amusements there, including a giant suspended bucket that rocks as it fills up and regularly dumps heaps of water all over everyone. There is a decent selection of food and icecreams and its cheap as chips to get in. In a dry, hot place such as Emerald this really is a cool oasis full of fun things to do.
