The Tia Falls is about 38km from Walcha heading East along the Oxley Highway. You traverse 7km of reasonable dirt road to get to Tia (and 7km back!). Once you get there Tia falls has good walking tracks and several lookouts to take advantage of the views. This waterfall is usually pretty reasonable in flow even when Apsley falls are on the dry side. You cross the Tia River on the way from Walcha so this immediately gives you an idea of how much flow is happening. You can also do a reasonable length bush walk to a distant lookout here and if you go there during the week you can do this bit in the buff!

Approximately 50km East of Walcha on the Oxley Highway, there is a signpost "Tia Falls". Take this turn, and about 2km along a gravel road (which was in good condition) you come to Tia Falls. There is not a lot of water in the falls at the moment, but they are spectacular after rain (I have seen photos). The facilities are excellent, including parking. There is a walking track to the North, which gives views 'front on' of the falls. The track is a little rough in places, so wear good walking shoes, take binoculars, camera and hat... and enjoy nature!
