Temora was a natural for an aircraft museum featuring aircraft flown by Australians or in operations that included Australians. The RAAF picked it way back in 1941 as a place for one of its Elementary Flying Training Schools. It’s in flat terrain, the weather is usually good for flying, and it’s a long way from the coast. And it’s still in uncontrolled airspace, which was important for a museum that has all its aircraft in flying condition. On a visit there, you’ll see a Tiger Moth, Spitfire, Wirraway, Boomerang, Hudson, Meteor, Sabre, Canberra, and others. A knowledgeable guide will show you around, or you can do a selfie just reading the informative information in front of each aircraft. Go on a Flying Day, as listed on the Museum website, and you’ll see some of them actually fly. Once a year there’s an air show. There’s a gift shop, naturally, with a range of DVDs, postcards, frig magnets, clothing, and more, much of it related to specific aircraft.

This famous attraction is well worth a visit. I went on a "non-flying" day but was fortunate to see various aircraft including a Spitfire take off for the Air Show at Avalon in Vic.Even without the flying display it would be well worth a visit. They have carefully selected a range of iconic aircraft, all of which are beautifully maintained and all of which are in flying condition. There are video screens adjacent to each aircraft on the hanger providing a description of its history. The sponsor and all the volunteers are to be congratulated on their successful efforts to preserve and restore these aircraft.

What an amazing piece of air history & they all fly. A lot of time & love has gone into these aircraft & highly recommend anyone going to see these magnificent aircraft.

Definitely go on a flying day. The planes are remarkable. The sounds and smells are wonderful. Even if you're not into planes, you have to be moved when you see a Spifire fly :-). Wonderful day out

The fact that there are so many flying aircraft (in fact I think all of them fly) here and that they cover such a wide range of vintages is just special. The people who fly these aircraft just love to share the experience with others and I like the fact that the museum is storing the history of those that have gone before to make sure they are not lost. The flying displays really are world class and the aircraft are in top condition.

Fantastic warbirds. The whole place is well kept and has an abundance of things to buy and souvenirs to take home.

For anyone even remotely interested in aviation history then this is pure heaven. Not only does the museum house a fabulous collection of old warbirds, but most of them are actually in flying condition and some are extremely rare. The best day to go is when they are holding a flying day, which is advertised on the museum's website. This is a must, if only to hear the wonderful purr of a big radial engine or legendary Rolls Royce Merlin.A wonderful museum. For any interested in aviation history, you just have to go to Temora.

This is a working museum with most of the aircraft serviceable and shown off on flying days. We visited on a weekday so nothing was flying, but the museum guide was knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions. If visiting Temora, drop in it is very well presented and a great way to spend an hour or two learning more about our aviation history.

We visited the Temora Aviation Museum in Feb 2014. My late father-in-law served in the RAAF during WW2 so it was a must-see for us. To see the Spitfire and Hudson up close was really special, but when the they took to the air and made several low level passes over the airfield it brought my F-I-L's war service a bit more into perspective. The sound of the engines, the smell of aviation gas; what a sight to see. If you are interested in RAAF war service, this is something you should not miss!

I had wanted to visit the Temora Aviation Museum for years, eventually calling in during September 2014. The museum's focus on flying weekends somewhat limits the visitor experience outside these times. My main motivation for visiting was to see the CAC Wirraway and Boomerang up close. When we were there they were on the tarmac waiting to participate in a flying event the following day. Consequently pretty much all I saw were their tails. The museum generally reflects the outcomes of a big budget with slick interpretations and digital media. I did find the layout of the interpretations to be a little chaotic. I left feeling disappointed by my experience and probably won't return.

The things I love about this place is huge range of airplane and history. I have never missed the November's airshow, even though the weather may not be good. I wished they keep doing the three month airshows like before. All I want to see during the airshow is F/18 Hornet, spitfire and dragonfly performing.

Although the weather wasn't very good, the brave pilots still took to the sky and did some terrific flying, which was watched by the faithful spectators. Temora Aviation Museum is run by volunteers who do an amazing job in keeping the planes flyable, look after the mess hall and the front shop as well as, the knowledgeable gentlemen on the ground explaining all that we ask of them about any planes or gear in the hangers. This is a great place to visit to learn about our history in aviation and wars.

The Temora Aviation Museum was well worth the visit. With war planes that are displayed and some in working condition, this was a real treat for the aviation buff. The staff were very nice and the overall condition of the museum was first rate.
