I was recommended to visit this museum and it was well worth it. There is a paid manager but the museum is basically run by volunteers. It covers a wide range of genres and time periods. There is everything from motor vehicles and tractors to clothing and electrical goods. The display of old ambulances is worth a visit by itself.Give yourself plenty of time. The kids will enjoy it as well.

What a wonderful find! This museum is one of the best we've seen. So much to see, both indoors and outdoors. Hundreds of artefacts, vehicles, buildings, etc. A wealth of social history. Will have to visit again :-)

This is a wonderful trip back in time and I recommend it to all ages. The volunteer guides are fantastic and there is a real sense of rural community involvement.

What a wonderful way to fill in some time. I'd heard about this museum but never been there so on a recent visit to Temora, I called in. It's very well set out and as you can imagine, I found myself saying "I remember them" many times, whilst admiring the well preserved exhibits. The displays out the back are excellent, Don Bradman's reconstructed house, the old flour mill, it's all really well done. I loved the old ambulance museum, and the fantastic array of old tractors. Tell all your friends!

I spotted this Museum next to the Temora Motel i stayed at at first didn't look that much as it was sited in the Information centre but my curiosity got the better of me, looking around in the building there was only 2 roomd one of old items clothes furniture etc the other Rocks and minerals and shells but once on the outside it was an eye opener so much of history on display spent much longer there than i thought i would, the newest Ambulance display was excellent and to be enlarged soon to over double what they have now

This rural museum was the best I have visited. Neatly set out, able to walk with ease between exhibits, or wheelchair friendly if needed. I don't think I have seen so many tractors or rural equipment anywhere else. Take your time, it is well worth the visit, especially the first home of our true cricketing hero, Don Bradman.

If you are in Temora, take the time to visit this museum. It has great, historic exhibits and the people there are so kind. There is a ton to see so make sure you make enough time.I don't think they are directly affiliated with the museum, but avoid the cafe that is connected to it called The Weekender. It is greatly overpriced and not good. Had a cupcake that was more salty than sweet and the actual cake part was so dry it just crumbled apart when I took the wrapper off. Too salty to even eat.

This museum is a gem. How interesting and passionate are the people who support and run this museum. I have worked in museums for many years but I cannot say enough about this one. It covers so many subjects but the content for each one was so informative. This museum and its staff are inspiring, so much has been achieved through their passion. I would recommend travelling just to see it. I hope it continues to get more funding, it would be a great loss if it didn't.

How cool is the Temora Rural museum? It has so much....soooo muchhh! One of my favourites was the ambulance history. It's one of the newest areas. Fabulous display with about 20 old ambulances. You just keep going from one shed (display) to the next. My wife and I went there, and didn't see each other for about 40 mins. Don't miss out on popping in to the Temora Men's Shed also on the property. It's impressive. I'd suggest getting there, having a look, then stopping for lunch or morning tea (they have a lovely cafe there) and then going back to see bits you've missed. Well done Temora!

very extensive set of displays. The new display of 20 ambulances which opened in March 2014 was amazing. I never knew some of the cars displayed every had ambulance bodies. We only had 2.5 hours and will we passed every thing I could have spent all day looking in more detail at all the old machinery. If I were visiting again I would check to see when some of the old machinery is to be run and try to visit at that time.

Many Australian country town have museums that range from excellent to the prosaic and predictable. Temora's is better than most with some clever (and mainly voluntary) curation and interpretation. Definitely worth a visit and the scones with devonshire tea were a real treat....definitely CWA blue ribbon stuff!

This is a museum with a difference; it is not only a rural museum but also the ambulance museum. A great combination and a pleasant surprise finding out how people in the country lived and went about their business and if they had a problem how they got to hospital. Looking at some of the ambulances it makes you appreciate modern medical help. This museum is not for a quick visit as it is spread over a large are with lots to see and appreciate

We were not expecting much, instead we found a huge and beautifully maintained museum, that can accommodate everyone's interests and give you a lovely insight into how life was. Enthusiastic people in the museum also help to make the experience worth while!

An extensive collection of buildings and memorabillia. Numerous ambulances and stationary engines in the collection. Even Don Bradman's original cottage.
