White sand, aqua ocean, great views from the wharf, warm water. Lovely natural environment. Bike hire, SUP hire, fishing, no surf really, great food, great coffee.

You can walk along it, swim and surf in it, fish in it, watch the changing weather, it's safe between the flags - its very scenic. And have breakfast on the dunes. What's not to love?

Good swell for body-surfers, good shallows for swimming, sheltered area for reclining. Patrolled throughout summer into March. Access to an open shower for rinsing. Shaded car-park.

This ocean swim is the culmination of a weekend organized by the Tathra Surf Lifesaving Club. Prior to the swim there is a beach run and a bike ride held on the preceding day.The swims consist of either a 600m swim from the historical wharf to the beach or a longer 1200m version. In addition there is a great event for those not as keen which mirrors the 600m swim but participants can use snorkels and flippers. What stands out for all these activities is the sense of community. The school market, the sheer volume of volunteers and the warmth they show for both participants and each other is outstanding. The entire community should be congratulated, but the SLSC in particular should be justly proud of their achievement. It was this sense of community that stood out for the weekend.
