My girlfriend and I had just gone away for a surprise trip for our 6-month anniversary to the Hunter Valley, and we were hitting winery after winery. Waverley Estate is one of the only wineries that stood out to us because of the heritage of the building, the quality of the wine and the friendliness of the staff.Darren (or Dazza) actually wanted to know more about us, where we were from and what brought us to the Hunter Valley, we found him warm and very approachable. We both had a wine tasting with selections from his own vineyard behind the building, and the wine was amazing; it was as if we were drinking nectar!The quality of service, combined with the affordable price of the wines and the history of the area makes it one of the top places to visit, we will definitely be returning!

After lots of research this little gem still hadn't appeared on my radar. A kindly soul from a nearby Vineyard told us about this place and if you like aged wines this is the place for you. Great host who knows his stuff and a very friendly atmosphere make this a great place to visit. Salut!

We went on a wine tour and sat outside overlooking the vineyards. The manager went through each of the wines in detail and for a winery that we had never heard of was surprised at how many of the wines we liked. Will go back there again

After a day visiting several wineries in the Hunter Valley we found this to be our favourite and a great finish to our day. The English guy who was running the place was super friendly and informative and he even let us try some of the wines usually reserved for wine club members only. A great place to visit. Oh yeah, the aged reds are awesome too.

Favourite winery in the hunter valley. Small and cosy atmosphere. Beautiful high quality wines. Wonderful friendly staff, would highly recommend to anyone visiting the hunter region!

We had such a wonderful experience at the Waverley Estate! Our large group of Aussies, Canadians and an American immediately felt welcomed by Darren and his knowledgeable and enthusiastic approach to tasting. We are all very pleased with our purchased cases and would recommend Waverley Estate to our families and friends.

Fantastic wine and fantastic service! Darren is probably the greatest wine pourer I have ever met and there is a dog... The best dog ever that you can play with!!

Small but lovely winery - we stopped in for an advertised special but were amazed by the quality of the wine. Darren went above and beyond for us, and we ended up buying 3 cases! An excellent experience.

Waverley estate was towards the end of our wine tasting day but Darren still gave us top advise and lots of wine to taste. We left with a couple of bottles but will return to buy a case of 2009 Shiraz on special for $120... They have a selection of top quality aged wines but also their cheaper younger range with bottles around $20, which are still great wines and some of the best prices in the hunter valley.Thanks Darren, mark and michelle

Ok. There are plenty of reviews of the vineries of the Hunter Village but if you really want to have an excellent experience, then we would thoroughly recommend Waverley Estate Aged Wines.We were amazed by the very warm welcome followed by a more then superb wine tasting. All of the wines fully lived up to our expectations… - and actually beyond our expectations! Actually, at first, I was very inclined not to refer to this winery online – to keep it as a secret for me and my friends – but hey, I cannot be that selfish… go to the Waverly: you will definitely enjoy it.
