Amazing use of huge area with an abundance of feature gardens, trees, flowers & walks. Had lunch in cafe & food was very nice. Try not to do it on a very hot day.

With big open expanses of lovely green lawns, shops, public bbq facilities, live music, botanic gardens and aqua golf there are plenty of activities to get involved in for the whole family. Connected to the hunter valley grand mercure and a quick drive to Harrigans Irish pub, there are many places to eat, drink and socialise. The botanic gardens has themed events such as Christmas lights which are extremely popular.

Large, mostly formal set-out, but the enthusiasm of the gardeners for "their patch" was infectious. I didn't know about the gardens before but was blown away. Only negative was that the batteries on both my camera and phone ran out before I'd got to the last, and possible best area near the chapel. Still, it's an excellent reason to go back

To think the owners have given us such a paradise to visit, choose to ride around the gardens or walk.

We have enjoyed roses in the summer, Christmas lights by night, and the flowers of spring. Plan to go in a few weeks for autumn this year. Love walking around these beautifully landscaped gardens with their varied styles.

We spent a couple of hours strolling around the gardens. They are well set out; beautifully manicured and perfectly maintained. It was interesting to see the different varieties of plants; the varied colours and garden themes - with a favourite being the 'Story book' garden. It's a credit to the people who care for it - we'd certainly visit again in a different 'season'.

The gardens are close to a local attraction. The scents are incredible and everything that you would expect from a garden to this great extreme!

HVG has everything you need to explore the Hunter. Convenience store, bathrooms, wifi, restaurants. Be aware however that it does not open early. We tried to have breakfast at 9 but couldnt find any place open. And only one restaurant had wifi, Country cafe.
