The lady working here is also the 'Information' person at the Information centre. She was very helpful and friendly. This is a wonderful town to get a feel for how Australia was, and is, and could be.

This was another great find. The museum is off the tourist track but well worth a visit particularly for golfing enthusiasts. The volunteer who staffed the museum was friendly and helpful and provided some interesting tales as well. There are reminders here of golfing equipment most golfers would like to forget - particularly in the form of aids for the game! Even the lambs wool golf bag is a bit cringe worthy but the height of fashion for the 70's. It was fun to see how the clubs and accessories have evolved - quite significantly in recent years. You can try the putters and see the difference!A worthwhile stop with a good selection of items for purchase.

If you are driving between Hobart and Launceston, consider taking the short detour to Bothwell to see this small and unpretentious museum, simply for its interesting collection of Australian made golf equipment. The museum features items that relate to the game before it was taken over by mega-companies and mass-produced, space-age ball launching technologies. We have visited the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Florida and were disappointed. Not so at Bothwell. The volunteers responsible for running this museum deserve a great deal of credit.

As the Australians say Amazing mate. This place was a find, obviously I play golf and I am partial to some memorbilia collecting, in the middle of nowhere. I have known of the existance of some of the clubs on display but have never seen them. Clubs for hitting out of water, or underneath shrubs etc etc. You could spend a long time here and as one reviewer said spend a small fortune. Once you tear yourself away from there you must then visit the oldest golf course in Australia, Bothwell. the course is not far from the museum. this place is nearly a Mecca

This is a small museum but should be visited by anyone who lovesthe nostalgia of golf. There is a good display of old equipment and historic pictures and the staff (volunteers?) are friendly and helpful. It is a great complement to a game on the Ratho Golf Course. Well worth a visit if you are passing through Bothwell

Who'd have thought that there was so much history on golf and the golf course with sheep grazing on the edge of the fenced off greens. Only in Tasmania.

If you love golf, stop and visit. My husband loves golf and thought it was heaven. Nice friendly staff. My husband went crazy and brought a whole heap of stuff. If you are traveling that way, stop and visit.

If you are a golf nut you should stop by and enjoy the exhibits. The history of the golf ball and the materials used to make the early balls is interesting. You can see everything in about a half hour and then go on down the road for a whiskey tasting at the Nant Distillery
