By coming to the Copper Coast you will get to understand the history of the area through its most famous attraction "The Kernewek Lowender" or Cornish Festival, held in May every second year. It is a big thing with each of the towns: Moonta, Kadina and Wallaroo having a day that is theirs, processions, people dressed in original Cornish clothing, stalls, singing, dancing, demos, and it is a know fact that people come to this Festival not only from everywhere in Australia, but even from overseas. Visitors mostly come up for the 3 day event and stay, but many just comefor one day, whichever way they come, they enjoy it - so why not put it on your "to be decided list for 2015" you will enjoy it.

I traveled to Kadina Caravan park to stay, the caravan park management were not on the property. This seemed odd as it was the afternoon on a week day. They had left a sign on the office door saying go to this particular caravan park site number. I could not find it . I was tired, I was a female traveling on my own, and I had to get to Pt Lincoln. I'd been driving a long time, and just wanted to rest. Very upset about this entire situation because of the lack of attendance at a tourist park, in the middle of the day. I had to find accommodation elsewhere. The was extremely annoying. Won't be returning

I have grown up here. I have family in both Moonta and Wallaroo; I even have extended family out in Minlaton. So for the past 26 years, I have traveled back and fourth to see family for Xmas/Easter etc.My opinion is clearly biased as I have grown up here, But I will still review the Copper Coast.The history, The scenery, The Beaches... Absolutely stunning. Moonta beach has always been a favourite South Australian beach for me. Beautiful in summer and not crowded like Victorias beaches. Have Caravan parks right on the beach too, Great for all those travelling families who want to pull over for a rest stop or RnR for a few days!Moonta Mines has a bucketload of history behind it. There's a volunteer run and operated lolly shop that I have been going to as a kid. Across the road from that, The Miners Museum and miniature Train that takes you through the old Mining areas. Great for families, Friends, Anybody. Kadina, Wallaroo, The list goes on. Theres plenty to do on the Copper Coast. Its worth a bit of time exploring and see how the rural towns operate.

Have eaten here quite a few times over the last few years on visits to Copenhagen. Always enjoyed the food, which is good thai based and thai based flavors. Recently went with 5 friends and all enjoyed. Would highly recommend the salads as a starter and all the mains that I have tried are excellent. Nicely balanced heat and flavor. Easy location for trains only few minutes from S Station but located on scenic CPH square.

Copper mining finished in Moonta and Wallaroo back in 1923 but the history around the place makes this beautiful area well worth a visit. Caravan parks right on the beach are great for fishing. A big grain export terminal at Wallaroo supports the biggest grain growing area in South Australia.

Brilliant to go see the history of this area. All good history of this remarkable area. Lots to see and do. Stay in Moonta as a base and drive to other Towns from there.

We booked for 3 nights, staying in Moonta. The 3 towns of Kadina, Wallaroo and Moonta are all withing easy driving distance of each other. In retrospect, 2 nights would have been enough as we ran out of things to do. Most of the tourist places we wanted to visit were only open for limited hours on certain days. This is not helpful for tourists but understandable because these places are usually staffed by volunteers.The Greg Norman-designed golf course has nor been a successful venture; only a 9-hole course to play on and the other 9 holes unlikey to be built. The land around the course is now being sold off in stages for holiday-homes. It is possible to get a coffee and a light meal at cafe/pro-shop.Good supermarket/small shop facilities in each town.Very good coffee at Henry's on George.

such a lovely area to explore, beautiful coast line, great farming area, lots of small towns to explore, great country shops and good caravan parks all along the way and not to far to travel to to see things.

If you like mines, heritage, small towns with gift shops and second hand dealers, then you will love the Copper Coast. Add to that the excellent fishing (especially Snapper), then you have a great place to visit for all the family. In summer, the beaches are wide and deep, the water warm and safe and even though flooded with holiday makers, there is still plenty of room for all. The Copper Coast is famous for its mining, its Cornish heritage and its farming. Thousands of visitors from the world over come here to holiday in the peak season. One of the main attractions is the Snapper Fishing which is some of the best anywhere in the world. It can get very hot in summer, sometimes as much as 48 Celsius, so visitors are advised to bring plenty of summer protection. The beaches are safe and there aren't the dangerous swells of other beaches and the waves are small and non threatening. There are lots of jetties to fish from and lots of things to see and do.

The Copper Coast offers a variety of attractions- the nice beaches, fishing opportunities, historic towns and friendly country hospitality offered by local restaurants and accommodation providers.It's an area which is readily accessible from Adelaide by car: about a 2 hour drive on good roads. About half way there, you can stop at Port Wakefield for a snack and rest stop.Highlights include the historic mines- once a major source of wealth for South Australia, the interesting 19th century architecture- including several ornate churches, as well as the seaside attractions.Well worth a visit.

Maybe it's because every time i visit i am working and don't have that Holiday mentality about me, But Honestly it's a destination i think i would get bored in very soon. Can get great Cornish pasties though if that's your thing.

The Copper Coast area is ideal for a weekend away. Not a lot of action but if you like pottering around in antique stores or walking along jetties or eating at great bakeries it could be the spot for you!The mining history of the area is well represented if you like that sort of thing. Nice beaches but shallow water, great for small children but older ones might be bored. Good fishing at the right times of the year too. A weekend is probably long enough though.

The region is very nice for a day trip but not to stay for days. One overnight stay would do and visit some of the sites in and around Moonta, Kadina and Wallaroo. The bakery in Kadina is nice for lunch. So if you are travelling North from Adelaide turn off at Pt.Wakefield and have a look.

Love the whole area. There is so much to see, do and experience.So many wonderful places to visit, definately need at least a few days there to see at least a good portion of what is there

What can I say. Magnificent scenery. Old areas, just beautiful. Views of coastline, over paddocks and quaint little old towns
