Visited Propulsion recently for a bachelor party and we couldn't have been happier! From the booking and follow up with Nicolas to the staff on site everyone was amazing! We camped for the night and stayed riverside about 1 minute down the road from the base camp, no one was near by so we could be as loud as we wanted as late as we wanted, it was great! Our package was the full day trip with dinner, lunch was salads, buns, nuts and muffins. Water and lemonade were also provided. Rafted that afternoon and made it back with just enough time to setup camp and come back for a quick game of frisbee and soccer. Dinner was steak (cooked PERFECTLY) that was amazingly tender, salad, baked potato and cake. Nice base camp facilities with a pool and hot tub, volleyball court, frisbee, soccer and a really big covered shelter that holds at least 10 picnic tables. Our guide for the day was Charlie and he was a blast. All of the staff were great and really did make an effort to make out day the best possible. Highly recommended and we'll be back for sure!

I decided to go whitewater rafting for the first time to celebrate my birthday and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my life thanks to Propulsion Rafting and, of course, an amazing group of friends. We went rafting for a full-day (2 runs) on Sunday June 22, 2014. The weather was warm (26 Celsius, water 17 Celsius). Only one of us opted to wear a wetsuit (we were a group of 8) and we did not regret our decision. Even though we rode the Canyon section of the Rivière Rouge because the water level was too high for the Seven Sisters, it was quite a thrill! We flipped over a couple of times but everything was handled in a safe manner. Everyone in the group agreed that the second run was the funnest since we knew what to expect and worked better as a team so I would definitely recommend going for the full-day option.I was genuinely impressed with how efficiently the Propulsion staff coordinated the day. We began the day at the basecamp with a short and funny introduction. In no time, we had all of our equipment on and boarded the bus. After a short bus ride to our starting point, we went through a thorough safety training (the staff managed to make this necessary part of the day fun - everyone I met there was very charismatic and enthusiastic about the sport - there is one guide per raft). Once we boarded our respective rafts, we were all asked to jump out of the raft and practice different ways of getting back into it. In one single swoop, our fear of falling was vanquished and we became fully prepared for what was to come! Our guide, Marco, prepared us well for our descent. Before any big rapid, he would take a moment to explain the motions that we would be doing. He also participated in all of our tomfoolery which I appreciated since we are a silly bunch :) After the first run, we gathered at a camp site by the water to eat. I was impressed by the quality of the food. We were given two different types of salads (one pasta, the other couscous), a very tasty bun, nuts, apples and a DELICIOUS double chocolate muffin for dessert. And we were allowed to go for seconds:) Since I am a person who loves to eat, I had actually brought snacks just in case they skimped on food but I did not even touch them. The food provided was of great quality and quantity! After the lunch, we went down for a second run. They surprised us by bringing us to a 30foot cliff to jump! Since the guide saw that we were working well as a team, he brought us to some more difficult rapids to try :) One person in our group did not want to flip over again so he was kind in finding her a spot on a rock to stay and wait for the others to try it. She simply hopped back on the raft when we were finished with that harder rapid. The guides are very flexible with the run - you simply have to tell them what you are comfortable with and they will do their best to make it happen, provided you are ready for it!After our second run, we were brought back to the basecamp. They explained on the bus how to hand back our equipment and the other activities the camp offered while we waited for the food to be prepare (hot tub, pool, volleyball, etc.) and voilà - it was done! Again, I was impressed at how smoothly everything went. Within minutes, I had handed in all of my equipment, took a quick shower and glided into the hot tub for some warmth :) We were given 45 minutes to relax before watching the video of our descent. After the video, we were treated to a feast (beer is available for purchase). The bbq steak was cooked to perfection (there is a salmon option for vegetarians, if you have dietary concerns you simply mention them at the beginning of the day and they will accommodate you). We also had ceasar salad, a baked potato with sour cream, very tasty bread, along with carrot cake for desert. DELICIOUS! I definitely recommend Propulsion Rafting to anyone interested in whitewater rafting. Since this was my first time, I cannot compare it to other companies in the area but my friends who have been elsewhere said that they were amazed at the quality of food at Propulsion (elsewhere they were being served the bare minimum and left the day hungry) and the enthusiasm of the guides. Also, we had one person who did not speak any French but that was not an issue since our guide was bilingual! As a group, we decided to purchase the dvd of high definition photos (47 photos for 60$). They really captured the best moments of our day!Happy rafting :)

My first time white water rafting and it was an amazing experience. There are 2 different options when you book, 1 trip down the river and a light snack, or 2 trips down the river, a light lunch and a BBQ. You can also hire a wetsuit which I would highly recommend. We decided to book the 2 trip option and I am very glad we did. The first trip down the river was to test our ability and do a few of the lower level rapids, the second trip we did a level 4 rapid which was quite scary, especially as we watched some of the rafts before us flip over! We managed to go over the rapid perfectly and not flip our raft. All the food they served was good, and there was something for everyone. If you have an special dietary requirements they will happily cater for you.The Propulsion Rafting has a lovely centre with a hot tub, pool and brilliant changing and shower facilities. Both my husband and I speak (bad) French, but there was an English guide on our raft and a most of the staff speak English, so don't worry about any language barriers.

I've been rafting a few times on rivers tame and wild and I have done some whitewater canoeing. This time I went with my wife who had never been on whitewater. She never stopped smiling. The guide, Simon was great and the whole crew was friendly and helpful from the outset. While we were on the river we saw boats from another company and I can't speak for the experience on the other boats, but I was quite happy to be with Propulsion. They staggered the runs between groups so although there were a lot of people we had only a few boats and many guides with us. Do the whole day two run trip as they get a chance to know the boat and the in our case the boat was working better together and we were able to push our boundaries a bit more. The dinner of steak or salmon with our new friends was a nice treat afterwar too.
