Since moving to the middle of nowhere in Calabogie, I had to find somewhere to bring my girlfriend on a saturday that wouldn't break the bank but we could still have fun. I decided to give the O'Brien theatre a try and I was not dissapointed at all! The tickets were very affordable and the lady selling the tickets was quite nice. The popcorn, drinks and snacks were extremely reasonable in price. All of my food and movie passes came out to about the same price as just the movie tickets from a theatre in the city! The upstairs theatre was a little small but still extremely comfortable. The downstairs theatre was quite large and also very comfortable! Went on a tuesday the other night for even less money which was great! Ill always go here for a fun night out.

Like the big screen and big seats and the fact it is never really crowded and shows current movies. Not always as clean as it could be

Sweet, clean, elegant. The theater is surprisingly large and evokes a sense of nostalgia with it's decoration. Inexpensive compared to cinemas in the city.Love it, love it, love it.

Great old time theatre. They only have 2 screens but the price is decent and the popcorn is good. The sound in the theatre is on par with any big city cinema, and the seats are comfy.

This little quaint theatre is very clean and has a friendly inviting environment. The prices are great only wish that they would bring in some 3D movies would save some trips going to the city to the movies then just staying here in town.

After having grown up in Renfrew and enjoying the experience of "a big night out at the movies" as a kid, this historic theatre continues to be a wonderful experience. The seats have been refurbished and the place has been renovated, yet the interior keeps its charm. The high ceiling with its architectural detailing is like eye candy, compared to the too many box stores and large theatres. Prices are still good, as well as the popcorn. Always a treat to see a movie in Renfrew!

i have been going to this theatre since i was a kid from the rocky horror picture show 3D to the latest it has always been a great venue.-we bring fresh popcorn home (double butter!!) and good memories of a night out.

Super comfortable seats, and the popcorn is not too salty but best of all are the wonderful films shown for the Film Group evenings. W've seen some really excellent films we would not normally know aobut or have access to.

I like this theatre because it has kept it's historical appeal. It feels like going to the movies when I was a kid and that was long ago. I much prefer this small theatre to the giant all look alike box ones in larger cities.

Great atmosphere, original 1919 historic theatre, but has all new digital gear, and great sound system, playing the current movies! We couldn't believe the low prices! Just $5 for a matinee, and just $5 for a small drink, popcorn AND a regular sized chocolate bar.Fantastic

A little walk back in time. Beautiful theatre, good movie, prices, friendly staff. Worth a trip to the movies.

As a family of six their matinee prices allow us to go to movies and enjoy the cinema experience more often. Love the O'Brien!

I love this old theatre! It is tastefully decorated and you cannot beat their prices on everything. The popcorn is delicious, and the drinks are the perfect size. It truly is a fabulous movie experience. Love the new seats too, although the rockers were really nice.
