North Beach Provincial Park has, IMHO, one of the nicest beaches on the lake. The lake is shallow and sandy at this beach, so it's perfect for kids and the water warms up quicker as a result. The Park closes after Labour Day, but it's only a short walk from the road where you can park your car, down to the beach. We went on September 26th, and the lake was still warm enough for all of us to enjoy - amazing.

North Beach is less crowded that Sanbanks and a little easier to get to if you are coming from Toronto. Nice sandy beach but watch for ticks -- they are prevalent throughout the county.

Same as with Sandbanks provincial park, the sand is a little less crowded with people but it isn't quite as nice (more rocks and debris in most places). So pick your poison. Personally I don't really spend much time on either of these beaches anymore.

We lucked out because we came into the park after a morning of rain, overcast skies and some cool wind, but it was a long, clean and almost empty beach on the Labour Day weekend - amazing! There are toilets- non flush, but clean, and changing rooms. There are two sides to the beach, so if you want the rough lake waves, you can try that side, or the inner lake on the opposite side. It's a nice juxtaposition to the busy beaches at Sandbanks.

Fabulous beach. Long sandy shore. Easy access parking. Reasonable entry free. Two beaches to choose from (North Beach and Lake Ontario). Delicous Onion Rings at the canteen and very friendly Park Staff - and it's rarely crowded.
