Thank you to the staff of the Lanark Museum, especially Matt Stafford for providing such an entertaining & informative Cemetery Walk on October 25th 2014. We attended this free event as part of the Haunted Lanark Geocaching event held on the same evening. We were amazed to learn so much about the history of the cemetery and to wonder about the people who are buried down under their stones. The lanterns that were plenty, cast a haunting light around the various graves and made it feel like we were truly being spooked while we walked, listened and inhaled the fresh crisp air.The Lanark Museum has a bounty of articles from local homesteads and businesses. It truly is a delight to visit, as each time you learn more about the history and the hardships that was part of living in the Lanark Highlands. To have dedicated staff and board members that believe in keeping this part of history alive for generations to come is truly worth a visit. Thank you for such a fun event and I look forward to attending more events in the future! Also the goodies & hot drinks hat were offered prior & after the tour made us thankful that there are such great volunteers that catered to our needs!
