This was my third trip to this specific beach in 5 years, and was not at all what it was my first two trips. It was dirty, with so much trash washed up on the beach and in the rocks I did not even want to take pictures, and amazingly enough, there was an apparently homeless man living tucked away in the cracks in the back of the beach along the rocks. Had a bed area set up, clothes there, and various canned good and bottles of drinks. The bathroom situation there was also deplorable, hadn't been cleaned/emptied in who knows how long. Not sure if this is all related to it being their "off season" and not as much public works cleanup is done or what.

Church Bay Beach was our favorite place to visit in Bermuda. We parked our scooter, and walked down to see stunning views and, oh yes, no crowds! That meant plenty of sand space and plenty of fish. We always bring our own snorkeling gear and really enjoyed the variety of fish and lack of other peoples behinds and legs kicking around. It's worth coming there just for the pictures, if you are not much of a snorkeler.Public bus stops nearby and the walk is definitely not as exhausting as to the overcrowded Horseshoe Bay Beach.

This is a beautiful beach, but we went for the snorkeling. Not too far out you will notice rocks sticking out of the water. On the beach side of the rocks there are beautiful coral reefs. This was the best place that we found for snorkeling.

I still prefer the Horseshoe, but Church Bay is very nice as well. Very clean and well cared for. Close to other wonderful areas of interest in Bermuda.

Not marked as a beach on the tourist map perhaps because it is very small at high tide. It was fabulous, so quiet, so clean with brilliant clear warm water. Don't go if you are looking for the tourist trappings as there are none -but well worth a visit.

if you snorkel this is the place to go to do just that. It has natural reefs to snorkel to and see the most amazing fish. It's recommended by the locals and It's only 25 minutes away from the cruise ship port .

My wife and I snorkeled Church Bay Beach in early September. The water all over the Island was very calm. There is a reef that is just off the beach that has a lot of sea life. The reef is heavily incrusted with brain corals and smaller hydrazoan (?) corals and there were lots of fish. The marine life I saw snorkeling was as abundant as the life I saw SCUBA diving earlier in the trip. For some reason lots of people go to horseshoe bay. Church Bay Beach is much less crowded. There is a sign that says that there are shuttles to Dockyards for the cruise boats, although I didn't take a shuttle.

We snorkeled here and there is a lot of structure and some fire coral, so watch out. We didn't think it was as good as Tobacco Bay Beach though. Not as many fish around. We went way outside the main area as well and it was pretty rocking with waves. If you stay inside the reef area it's calmer and good for kids. Cody

a secluded and intimate beach... not crowded at all and having a beach to yourself... come here if you want a some what private beach to yourself and have white soft sand and blue water to enjoy your day on the beach.

Well this pretty much sums it up for all the beaches on the island of Bermuda. Beautiful sand, lots of fish and turquoise water, ahh

We heard Church Bay Beach was great for snorkeling so we drove our moped there and thankfully we have our own snorkel equipment so we didn't pay money to rent some and then see how terrible the beach was to snorkel. I'm not sure if the beach is always like it was when we were there, but there were massive amounts of seaweed and it with all the rocks, the water was way too rough to snorkel. When we got there, there was another couple leaving saying how disappointed they were too. We left and went to Tobacco Bay in St. George which was great!

rough water as it sits on the SW side of island.snorkling was not very good (was told some of the best).small beach with a lot of "sea garbage" on the sand.rough sand, not the sugary soft sand.we stayed 15 min, then taxied back to Horseshoe Bay Beach.

Just got back from a 10 day trip to Bermuda and we loved visiting Church's Bay. A beautiful beach, clean, safe, and a perfect spot for snorkeling. Definitely stop by and spend so time, it is worth the effort. Be sure to pack something to eat and drink and as in most of the beaches in Bermuda, there isn't alot of shade so be sure to wear a hat.

We came here after spending some time at horseshoe beach. Water is much calmer and this is definitely not a tourist trap. You need to walk down several stairs. Scenery is breath taking. You can only buy Italian or frozen ice at the entrance.... Bring something for hydration and nourishment if you are staying for a long time.

I loved this little beach. It is considerably further west than Horseshoe Beach, and as a result, is far less crowded. There are no services here, which is fine with me. As a result, there are far fewer people at this beach.
