isla verde tennis club

I was visiting in Puerto Rico in January and February (2015) and was looking for a place to play tennis. The first day that I walked to the Isla Verde Tennis Club I met Kamil and Jamie in the office. They couldn't have been more welcoming or friendly. They immediately made me feel very comfortable and introduced me to some of the people who were playing. Once again, the people who were playing tennis were amazingly friendly and welcoming. The players were more than accommodating to new players. They immediately asked me to join their group and included me in their tennis time every time I went to the courts. I was called to play and sub in some regular groups when they needed a sub. Even if they had four people playing and saw someone waiting to play, they would rotate players to be sure that I was included and was able to play tennis. Several of the people who were playing there would even pick me up and take me back to my condo. The level of play ranges from good to very good. In addition to playing tennis there were many celebrations and parties some were at the tennis club and some were at a local restaurant. I was invited to join in all the parties as well. If you want to make new friends and enjoy some great tennis be sure to go here. Now that I am at home and playing with my own tennis group I still miss the people I met there.

Spent several days at this club playing with director Kamil and several other assistants. Coaching staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Highly recommended.

The Isla Verde courts are 4 courts outside with bathrooms and a teensy (but stocked for emergencies) "pro shop." The people who run it are super nice, very helpful via online communications. It is somewhat unusual in location, not next to the hotel strip, but it is really the only place to play tennis in the Isla Verde area. We used the player matching service that is free. Very reasonable costs for courts. The only reason this doesn't get a 5 for rating is because it is hard to think of this facility as a "club" in the traditional sense- it is just tiny room, no courts indoors, and it is in the middle of a residential neighborhood near a baseball park, with no amenities or showers, etc. Just the basics, but courts are pretty well maintained. It does have a practice wall if you are waiting for a court to free up. (Nice that they have also adopted a few stray cats for the office, the club mascots!)

Really only place to play tennis in area. Very active club with clinics, team play, and player matching service that is free. Very reasonable costs. Friendly and helpful staff. Well-run.

This is the best tennis club in the island! I have played in many courts around Puerto Rico and none compare to the well maintained courts, great atmosphere and amicable pros that Isla Verde Tennis Club has! If you enjoy tennis or if you want to take some private lessons or clinics, make sure you visit the club. You'll really have a wonderful time!

This is one of the best places to play tennis in San Juan area. The staff is knowledgeable and will go out of their way so you can have a great time. The courts are well maintained. Play there, you won´t regret it.

Isla Verde Tennis Club is a little hidden gem for tennis. Right behind the hotels strip, this little club provide beautiful courts surrounded by vegetation and in family ambiance. The staff is very nice and attentive as well as the teaching pros. I know every tennis facility in the city and there are few good ones, but this is my go to place and for me there is nothing like it!

This a great place to play tennis near the isla verde area. There are only four courts but they are in great shape and the club has a good vibe. Lots of activity and two pros on staff for lessons and clinics. It is walkable from most hotels in isla verde-albeit a long walk. A Great place to play!

Isla VerdeFuimos a pasar una tarde, la playa es grade, amplia y con un oleaje interesante.(falta!)Me recordo mucho a las playas de miami, ampliam con oleaje, arenas y agua clara pero no super tansparente, Esta ubicada a unos 25 usd en taxi desde los fuertes, si estas varios dias es lindo conocerla pero nada de l otro mundo, muy tranquila para descansar!No nos enoquecio pero nos gusto bastante...
