This was my first time in Gen San and we traveled to Sarangani to get to the Beach Resort for the Gen San Christmas Celebration. The Provincial Capitol was immaculate in white and the Sarangani Hospital, which locals said Boxing Champ Manny Pacquiao built, stood near it, almost finished.

Went to experience what they called" Boracay of the South". Though the beaches were not as fully-developed as Boracay, but the area itself is good enough. The sand is not as powdery-white as Boracay. From General Santos city, it will take almost 2hours to reach beaches in Saranggani... Interior roads going to beaches are bumpy. Need to hire a trike as no public transportation going to and from the beaches..

When I visited Gen San the main purpose is to see Isla Jardin Del Mar and Dole Plantation. I arrive 1 day ahead, so I have extra time and rented a habal habal. I went to 2 local coffee shops who serves good coffee and cookies, I saw the house of Pacquaio, I ate at a local Tapsilog House, The Lechon kawali in an Old Nipa House which is well known among locals is a must try, and the Seafood Resto with their Spicy Crab. I eat more than 6 times that Day, but I noticed the Price is similar to Manila. Next day My Friend arrive and we start our Road Trip to Saranggani. We pass by 2 local Beach resort just to have an idea, you pay 30 pesos for the entrance fee and another 500 for the cottage, but we didn’t stay , the sand is not good ( almost gray to coal ) Driving continued till we reach the landmark that it is already Saranggani. The Massive White Municipal Hall – Like a White House. The view is worth all the effort of driving 2 hours, I will advise having your own Vehicle so that You can stop anytime for Photo shoots and some Picnic of potato chips and Soda. We enjoyed the entire Journey before reaching Isla Jardin as our Destination. ( I have a separate review for Isla Jardin Del Mar )…..A MUST TRY RESORT…The Best. I hope to be back there this December 2013.

Last summer I've had my first unplanned trip to Gen.San with a friend/colleague, and no doubt the place is worthy to be called, "Magandang Gensan". The highlight of our tour was resort hopping , we devoured great experiences with the prime resorts of Gensan and Saranggani Provinces, Isla Hardin del Mar Resort at Gumasa, Glan,is a hidden paradise, which is overwhelming with its relaxing and calm setting. IML Resort which is on top of a hill has its astounding view and breathtaking water sports/ zipline adventure. Water Gran Resort has a cool ambiance which is perfect for the family. Lemlunay Resort is ideal for those who love snorkeling and diving, also has mouthwatering dishes to offer. And if you want solitude you can find your refuge at A Montana Resort…and the rest is for you to find out and see. =) So make sure to have your camera ready and if possible bring extra batteries, for you not to miss these amazing views.

Visiting to Gumasa, Glan, Saranggani was a dream come true. I was thrilled and excited going to the place and very much overwhelmed reaching Isla Hardin del Mar Resort. It has very calm setting, where one can enjoy and relax both mind and body. It is also a PERFECT place for lovers and to be lovers. It is a very romantic place indeed. One should trek to see the majestic Balut Island and a breath-taking view of the color green and blue ocean... Excited? Visit and explore for yourself to see... >>>
