This Safari was booked at the airport. Everything seemed OK, our driver was brilliant! We travelled with two other ladies who had their teenage kids in tow. Firstly we went miles out of our way to deep into Kikuyu to pick up one party when they could have easily been picked up in Nairobi centre. The other party had paid approximately half what we payed as it was a last minute booking! We then arrived hours late at Masai Mara and missed our evening safari. Rhino tented camp was very basic with no electricity after 10pm and there was often no hot water for showers. The next morning the other party complained about the camp so Planet took us all to another very nice camp, once we had checked out the rooms were satisfactory we were told we should not have been moved and were taken back to Rhino. The next morning we had to get up at 6am for safari but had to pack and get ready by the light of our fones as there was no electric. Due to the power outage we got hardly any breakfast before we left for safari.I believe that for what we paid we should have got a lot better lodgings but we were ignored and treated with contempt by Planet therefor I cannot recommend them at all and would actually give them zero stars for ruining our trip. They could try injecting some care and honesty into the way they conduct their business.

Planet Safari has a booth at the Nairobi airport. I booked a 3 night, 4 day excursion to Lake Nakuru and the Maasai Mara and was over-charged for what I received. The safari van was in horrible condition and broke down on our way back. Our guide was only moderate (was not very chatty and didn't make a lot of effort to speak with his guests), and the accommodation options were over-priced. The actual game viewing was fairly good - we saw all animals with the exception of Rhinoceros and Cheetahs.

Planet Safari has a booth at the Nairobi Airport. We were directed to them by Kenya Airlines when we were seeking a nice hotel close to the airport last week. Planet Safari sold us a "bill of goods" about the so-called 5-star Panari Hotel, who were charging only $350 US per night including transfers. The only truth in their story was that it was near the airport. All four of the Panari Hotel elevators were not working and our room was on the 10th floor. The carpets are torn and ratty, there was no hot water in the room, the furniture was badly damaged arborite, the chairs were really uncomfortable and the mattress was the type of foam mat that you might see in a youth hostel. After far too many heated discussions at the front desk, the management finally 'upgraded' our room, where there was a decent mattress and the hot water was working. The hotel was in fact almost empty so why the upgrade took so long is indeed a mystery. The final straw was that the prepaid pick-up to get back to the airport on the following day never showed up. Why was I not surprised? In addition the Doorman conveniently arranged a $20 replacement cab ride instead of the regular $10 for a 10 minute ride to the airport, as his way of helping out.Bottom line - Avoid Planet Safari Adventures and the Panari Hotel in Nairobi
