Nothing could be closer to a television documentary of undersea life than even the simplest snorkelling expedition in Dahab. The coral reef and sea beds are magnificent. I saw an African lionfish my first time out.

I'm not by any means a coral expert. From what I've heard, some places are damaged from the people who swarm here and dive. However, I only witnesses beautiful coral that should not be missed, even if just snorkeling. I bought the local fish guide and checked off each fish I took a picture of each dive. There are so many different corals and so many different species to see. If you're in this beautiful town anyway, you might as well jump in and see the beauty not visible from the surface!

Swimming with the dolphins as a family out of this world . Great if you want to be with family this hotel staff should be a 10/10 .Why ? Because they treated us the way they like to be treated with a lot of care Even the man that did the camel rides made sure we was all looked after it was one of our best holidays .and we would love to go back there we hope real soon .only you can decide like we did to see what it is like and we loved it

Brilliantly coloured fish and amazing shaped corals - I reckon you see just as much by snorkelling as diving.

This is first of all for Dahab as a whole which i loved. Traveling as a backpacker together with friends from a Kibbutz in Israel 1998 this oasis in the middle of the desert was such a welcome respite and just a lovely dreamy place to be at for several weeks. We came with a beduine cab in the night and came to this little village by the red sea. We had been recommended Dahab by several other backpackers that said it was a perfect place to land before going further to Egypt and Cairo. So when we arrived we took the nearest hotel which was not anything spectacular, but just having a clean room and other things you did not expect in the desert served us well at that time. The staff was actually very pleasent and tried to meet our demands and help out in any way they could. We went out that first night just to have a look around and found the little place so charming. It was like a scene taken from 1001 arabian nights. The sea with a distant thunderstorm roling by, the lights in all colors lining the beach, the other backpackers strolling by. everything was so calm, like the place had its own timezone.Next morning though we got a better view of the whole place and saw things we couldnt in the night. It was still such a nice place to be. Small cosy shops with things the villagers had made themself. Comfy trousers, bags etc that i still own to this day and take out with fond memories. They had some really nice places to eat, small cosy places that fit in perfectly into the theme that the rest of the village had. You could eat fresh pancakes with icecream and other delicious stuff that made you drewl whenever you walked passed those Cafes with your friends and saw others eating there.First and foremost id say its a place to relax. But if you are a diver its great place for that also.I dont have a certificate, but i snorkle and that was also fantastic. This place in Dahab called the "Blue hole" is well known for divers all over the world. Its a gigantic hole in the coral reef that goes down very far. We heard stories just before snorkling about people that got sucked down there, which made us a bit hesitant to go over the hole, but in the end we did hehe.I bet if you can dive it will be spectacular down there, becase what we saw snorkling was amazing! We stayed there a week at first, and then on our way back from cairo 1 week more.I would really recommend it just because you wont see such a place ever again. id love to go back there at some point in my life.

Staight in from Tropitel, Happy Life and Daniella to unspoiled reefs. If you dont dive or snorkel, why come here?

Amazing coral reefs and apparently the most northerly reef system in the northern hemisphere. A crystal clear fish filled paradise.

It is not on the side of luxury by any mean.good diving spots, but you have to ask and check lousy food, no night life except for low quality cafes.

beautiful scenery , good wind, lagoons, just ask about the tides before going. we used 7-9 m kites only~ i recommend Harry Nass kite center

Plenty of colour and variety. Good access from Happy life village pier; we could leap off into deep water. No need to scramble down a beach getting sand in private places!

Chrystal clear water and 24°C water in December. You don't need to be an experienced diver to have the time of your life under water.

Snorkeling paradise and the crystal clear water only gets better when you snorkel and explore the coral reefs. It's another world under the water to be discovered and I thoroughly enjoyed it !

Great reef on site recommend that you enter the sea at the canyon and just drift down to the hotel pier

I think that this town has the best places ever to learn how to scuba dive or snorkel specially that is just couple of meters off the shore a highly commended for any beginner, or even the professional SCUBA diver, there is no admission fee to access the beach, enjoy the laid-back atmosphere in any of the surrounding cafés listening to some nice chill Out music
