Takoma Park has a fine little Farmer's Market every Sunday in the center of Old Town Takoma. With everything you'd expect of a farmer's market-fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables, breads, cheese, eggs, meat and even yogurt and local wine tastings. Although it suffers from the typical expense artisanal markets carry, the regular vendors are all friendly and the quality of the merchandise is never in doubt. One real bummer is that dogs are not allowed-it tends to be a bit crowded, so that is understandable.

Wine, cheese, mushrooms, produce, breads, pastries, cut flowers, eggs, meats--all fresh all local. There is always a musician or two playing (in the warm season). It's a great scene.

This is a terrific market, with local produce, products and flowers. Since it is south of where we live in Massachusetts, it's great to go buy things that are not yet available at home, or still available after our season is wrapped up. The vendors are friendly and knowledgeable, and everything I've bought there is of excellent quality. It's a great way to spend a Sunday morning when you're in Takoma Park.

Nice way to kick off Sunday mornings. Thirty or so vendors with beautiful fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, plants and flowers. As with most markets, the proprietors are friendly and chatty, giving out advice on preparation, propagation, etc. Prices tend to be somewhere in the Whole Foods range, but the goods are high quality and generally worth. The market starts officially at 10:00am and runs into the early afternoon. There is usually street entertainment on the same block and several cafes and restaurants serving breakfast, brunch, etc. Kid and dog tolerant. Close to the Takoma Park Metro stop.

My only dislike is the parking. Expect to walk several blocks. I usually park at the drug store and try to hurry. No one at the drug store has complained. This farmers market is within sight of the Takoma Park Metro station.

Great selection of organic and eco-friendly produce, cheeses, eggs, meat, etc. Friendly folks of the liberal - leaning political persuasion. Draws a good size crowd of regulars.

Takoma Park is a small community and their farmer's market isn't very big, but there was a nice selection of products offered there.

This is a friendly market of all local items. It's fun to browse. There is a vendor selling fresh herb and flower plants as well as all kinds of fresh local veggies, honey, baked goods, you name it! It's in a cute neighborhood where you can get a nice breakfast or lunch after visiting the market. It's a very friendly and unique community.
