We enjoyed our overnight stay so much that we made plans to go back. Our visit was in the off season. We were not able to take advantage of the lake activities, but enjoyed the beauty of the frozen wonderland. The thing that left the biggest impression on me was the friendly staff. You never passed an employee in the hall from executive to the cleaning staff that didn't make eye contact and say hello. The entire resort is immaculate. The indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub were a nice addition. We enjoyed the casino and actually had some luck! The entire casino is smoke-fee, which I loved. They have a self-serve beverage area, servers, and a bar. We ate at one of the bars located on the bottom floor of the resort. The menu was typical pub food at fair prices. I had fish tacos that were very good. They also run drink and food specials each weeknight. I can't say much for out server, she was more interested in rolling silverware in napkins than taking care of her customers. We were not in a hurry so it really didn't bother us. If the view from your room is important to you, be sure to get a lakeview room. Our room was a golf course view, which I would have said is a partial roof, parking lot, and beyond that you could see the golf course view! I have to add that we purchased our room on GroupOn, so you don't expect the best rooms. We were near the elevator and could hear it ding every time it stopped on our floor. The carpeting in the room and halls looks like it needs to be replaced.

The atmosphere has definitely changed from when it was just the resort. It definitely is a casino feel now. The rooms could stand to be updated. Otherwise a nice get away if the casino life is what you are looking for. The main entrance engulfs you in the casino atmosphere right away. I was there five years ago and it was a nice quiet lake retreat. That seems to have gone on the way side.

I love all of the resort - just sitting looking out at the frozen lake, and watching the sun go up and go down - seeing the snow on the mountain tips, good foods, entertainment - great night away from home.

The grounds on which the Resort is on is breathtaking ... beautifully situated on the Lake with the Golf Course close by. Looking forward to a visit in the spring and or summer.

The staff at this resort were very helpful, kind and friendly. We enjoyed our time. We felt safe, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the casino was comfortable. I will be coming back.

I want to review my experience at Rocky Gap Casino on New Year's Eve by separating the gambling from the party. First of all the gambling wasn't enjoyable at all. This casino has some of the tightest machines I have ever seen. Not a single person I saw was winning. There weren't any bells or jackpot lights going off. Most of the people were complaining and grumbling out loud about it. As far as the party goes, that was a total dud. The first band was a local band that shows up there on a regular basis. They played some standards and seemed to be happy with the 10 people that actually danced or swayed to the tunes. The rest of the place was filled with tables full of people just staring blankly. Hardly a party. One guy was standing next to the speakers doing air guitar moves and trying to high-five the band members. The second band was a Creedence cover band that clearly must have been selected because they were available that night. They were definitely not there because the crowd wanted to hear them, or their set. I sat next to a couple and older lady from PA. They said they were VIP players there and had Platinum cards. They said they expected some kind of 'preferred' seating or drinks or something to indicate their level of play, but got none of that and would not be back. I was surprised that a casino didn't at least have waitress service at a New Year's Eve party. You had to go to the back to the bar for your drinks. Most people were bringing buckets of beers across the floor all night. All-in-all it was pretty tacky. It was more a VFW holiday party than a casino event. The big feature was the fireworks show at midnight. That's great if you like rushing outside at the stroke of 12, to stand out next to a lake in 20 degree weather. The fireworks were OK, but not enough to make the event worth sticking through. My advice to anyone considering this next year is to go to Rivers or Nemacolin or a casino that offers something more than the usual for New Years Eve.

Casino was great and not crowded... Free self service coffee & tea! They charge for all alcoholic drinks but that was fine. They also play very nice music as well!

Nestled in the hills/mountains of Western Maryland, just off of I-68, this resort is a nice option for a weekend getaway or a stop on your travels. Casino is small but interesting. Dining options include a nice sports bar with patio near pool and with lake view. Boating, biking, golfing and a beach make this a stop for the activity minded traveler.

This is a smaller casino but it's very well maintained. There are a variety of slots to choose from and several tables games available. Came into contact with several different employees during our time there and everyone was helpful and friendly. The resort is located at Rocky Gap State Park and sits at the edge of a small lake.

The casino at Rocky Gap is small but clean and the staff are very friendly. There are slot machines and table games available. The casino was not crowded when we were there. They have many different slot machines than other casinos

Rooms were very clean and spacious. Nice view of the lake. This resort has 3 dining options that need improvement. The food was mediocre at best. Breakfast buffet (am not a big fan of buffets) was good but a bit expensive..$13.00 Per person. We went in to Cumberland in the evenings for dinner. Quite nice. It's only about 10 miles away. I'm not a big gambler but the casino seem nice. It was never really packed. There was always a slot machine open.
