I have played this course several times in the past and it was a decent course, nothing spectacular but decent. Today was a totally different story. This course is in terrible condition. Bald tee boxes, spotty tall grass in the fairways, and terrible greens. The greens had just recently been aerated. On the front 9 they did not back fill the holes with enough sand so when you putted the ball it could not hold a straight line. On the the back 9 they overfilled the holes. Some of the greens are like putting in a sand box. And someone needs to explain to the grounds crew the concept of allowing the golfers to play. On one hole I was hitting a pitch from the fairway and the help kept right on cutting the fringe, totally ignoring me. Waldon has gotten their last greens fee from me! There are plenty of other reasonably priced courses in the area that are in much better shape. I would recommend driving past this place and finding somewhere else to play!

Walden is a golf course trying to rebound. They offer super internet specials (a round of golf, two drinks and a cart for under $30). In some way you do get what you pay for. The good. Every hole is unique. Some have water, others have blind tee shots, dog leg right, dog leg left, up hill, down hill, reachable par 4's, long par 4's etc. The people in the restaurant and pro shop are friendly and helpful. The not so good. The fairways, while getting better, still can have some real bare spots and even gravel. The greens, some are perfect, others still need a lot of work (they are slow!). The bunkers; apparently not a high priority and are generally a mix of dirt and sand.Overall, if you want value and can put up with a little scruffiness on the course you should have a good time.

Generally very easy to get a tee time, always lose grass in summer, great in spring or fall, walk able, no range, very affordable
