Hey, guys, this is a great place for you, as well. There are occasions when any of us with wives, sweethearts, moms or daughters really need a venue offering scores if not hundreds of items certain to pop their eyes wide. You and I might not get as enraptured as the ladies do over all of those, to them, famous names, but we all recognize a dynamite token of love and devotion when we see one. What's more, just the name on the box will be enough to rivet her attention. If secrecy is an issue, simply tell her you will be a little late this evening and walk the long block down Willard Avenue from Friendship Heights. There are plenty of classy watering holes for you and a buddy to pop in for a quick brewski or snort; even to thank a lady friend who came along as a shopping coach. Bring a hefty credit card!

Learned about this area from an add in a magazine inside the hotel. Rode the Metro from central DC (had to change trains once-about 20 minute ride) but enjoyed the Metro experience! You exit just steps from shopping mecca! Bloomingdales, TJ Maxx, Lord and Taylor, Nordstrom, Talbots, Filene's Basement. The selection was amazing, the area was clean and felt safe. There is a secret tunnel directly to the Metro inside the Filene's store so I didn't get wet during the rain. The only drawback was that I had to carry back all of my purchases on the train. I was alone and had all day to explore. I was able to get rid of the shopping bug, get away from the museums and stately buildings and men dressed in suits for awhile. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I will return again next visit.
