Year round, the roadway around the pond is normally filled with runners & walkers. It is especially busy in the warm weather. Tarred road, lots of side cut offs to investigate, a good place to take your dog for a run and the kids love looking into the pond at the fish (sometimes a snake), or the ducks and geese that constantly beg for food. a good exercise area.Warm weather brings out the hot dog vendors too.

What a great place to take a hike. Whether your just hiking around the pond or taking to the trails in the back woods (my personal favorite), your bound to see familiar faces and wildlife surprises. If your a birder you won't be disappointed. Wood Ducks, Hooded Mergansers,Swans Geese, Coots, Great Horned Owls, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and Kingfishers just to name a few. A short but vigorous hike up the mountain on the paved road will give you a fantastic view of the Boston skyline. The native flowers are never ending from Columbine to Lady Slippers. I recommend leaving the road and heading out around the back ponds. Its an easy hike, less crowded and offers a lot more to see. For the best sunsets you'll want to be on the Arlington Rd side of the pond. If you like being outdoors you'll find this to be Woburn's very own hidden gem.
