15 years ago, I would never advise anyone to visit this town. Most of the stores were boarded up, the houses off of the main drag were shabby, and drugs and crime were rampant. Things have settled down and progress has arrived to an extent. The great Falls Discovery Museum hints at part of it. The Shea Theater, The Rendezvous and a few funky stores brighten things up. A great place to check out for a daytrip if you are in the area.

Four seasons, beautiful views, bicycle trails, locally owned businesses and close to the ground food. What more could you ask for!

The town is trying very hard to overcome a depressing "closed factory town" image. The buildings that used to hum with paper mills are idle or decaying. Downtown is not where one would walk along and check out the stores. The Shea Theatre has very good shows. There is a decent golf course. But still not a town that attracts visitors.

I walk my dog on the bike path almost every day. Either the bike path side, from Southworth factory down to the hydro plant, or across the river down to the fish hatchery. Both good walks. Always meet friendly people.

Buildings were constructed in the 19th century to support the mills. Business is struggling now, but the tour and stores are worth a few hours visit. Nice restaurants.

Live in Greenfield, but go to Turners to get my hair done and grab a bite for lunch. Love the wide Main Street, but wish all the store fronts could be filled. The town hosts some great events, has a terrific community theater, and has some really excellent places to eat. The 2nd Street bakery now on 4th is one of my favorite places to go. Homemade breads, inventive sandwiches, savory soups, yumm.

Great views, open space and trees. Free public space. Couple does not have much money, so it fit the bill nicely for all.

Quaint, yes. I remember my first visit there about 25 years ago and it looked like you could film a movie about the Great Depression there. They have done a nice job prettying it up, but now it's just a town
