This lovely little piece of history, a non-profit historical landmark, includes the actual Wayside Inn, the oldest continually operating inn in the country. Also on the grounds are the Martha-Mary chapel, the relocated little Redstone schoolhouse where the rhyme "Mary had a little lamb" was purported to be written, and a recreated old gristmill. Situated on 125 acres, this started as a two room house and is fun to explore and also have a bite at the restaurant and tavern. Beautiful place for weddings, and one was finishing up as we explored. They offer 10 guest rooms in which to stay and the packages even include meals. During the winter months, the fires are lit inside the Inn, but access to the gristmill is closed and the river is blocked from running by. There are lots of scenic photographic spots here.

Great venue for a perfect fall wedding, outside overlooking a pond with a pictorial background of the trees dressed in full fall colors. What a great place to stroll and explore the ole grist mill and the history Inn.
