I am terrified of heights and don't like small planes. Never in my life did I plan to go skydiving... until this year. This was on my husband's to-do list and he had no interest in doing the indoor version. Between seeing a groupon and one of my co-workers having a wonderful experience, I decided to go for it. We waited until the weather was nice (and the groupon was about to expire) and scheduled our first tandem jump. We set the time for 2 pm on a Saturday and arrived about 10 minutes early. There was a lot of waiting around, but it was very entertaining and (surprisingly) relaxing watching group after group go up in a plane and come down with parachutes. There are picnic benches and lawn chairs near the hangar, plus a basketball court and some kids toys available. There is also a cafe onsite selling food & snacks. There were some dogs hanging out and greeting their owners when they landed safely on the ground. Very much a family and pet friendly location. It was around 5 pm by the time our group was called. The instructors helped us suit up while giving us directions and pointers before getting on the plane. The scariest moment was when they opened the door 2 miles up in the air and said "Ready?" It's a big rush for about 60 seconds before they pull the parachute. Then it's bliss as you glide down towards the ground (about 5 minutes). After you touch down, they immediately ask if you would do it again. YES! I will definitely be back! We decided upon check-in that we would both purchase videos of our first jump and I'm glad we did. About 10-15 minutes after we landed, they gave us USB drives with video and pictures. Our kids love watching the videos over and over again. This is one of those places where you can tell everyone truly enjoys their job and they're excited to go to work everyday. They're friendly, passionate and thrilled to share this experience with you.

8 of us went for a tandem dive here. All first timers. They could not accommodate all 8 of us as they only had 7 instructors that day. So we grouped into 4s. It was Sunday so I guess its very buzy one. Our registration time was 10. During that they asked us if any one of us needed photographer to record our videos and take pictures. As I know I was making history for myself I had no hesitation spending extra 135. And i am glad I did. Beautiful HD video and pictures.Anyways there is lot of wait time after registration since you have to watch a video by an attorney explaining about the waiver form you sign in waiver room. Followed by vide of an instructor what to do and dont and what you will expect at every point of the process. Then wait again . So I will recommend bring your snacks and hydration stuff. Though you can buy from a cafe joint on ground there which offers burgers, subs and sanwiches and fries. Regular stuff. They also carry ice cream, sodas yogurt, packaged snacks and fruit cups.Restrooms are avilable in waiver room. IF teh waiver room door is closed due to ongoing presentation, you can use another access door from the right side through the hall where instructors are constantly assembling their diving gears. They announce you name for all steps on loudspeaker. There is a basketball court to kill anxiety (if you have it :-) )As I know sky is cooler at that height I wore jeans. But when we went there to office they said shorts are comfortable since we have to wear jumpers. I am glad I carried one. Came handy. After waiver and after some more waiting, time comes to get geared up. The videographer and your instructor meets and greets you. Videographer starts shooting you and your frineds and family (if you let them know in advance)Then after brief instruction with instructor we boarded the plane and i can feel I going to do something fascinating. The plane reaches certain height and all of sudden it kinna sotps there but actually it has stopped accelerating and now simply gliding. And then everything happens very fast.we jumped. Me and my instructor tied together. 40 seconds free fall from 22000 feet and i cannot describe the feeling. I am trying to scream but I can not as the force of air going in my mouth can not let me scream when I open my mouth to scream. The videogapher with me at all steps till my instrutor pulls the chute. And I now we have slowed down and started gliding. And what a wonderful feeling. My instructor let me hold the handles of the chute and instructed me how to change right and left and spin. It was awesome. Apprx 5 min of gliding and the landing. It was smooth as I followed my instructor. All togther it was an experience which is hard to describe in words. But I know I did it. I am afraid of flying like this. But now I am glad I did. Thanks to my wife for making this happen who is daredevil. After landing we removed our gears and waited approx 20 min for the video and pictures. They give it all on a USB drive. Staff is very professional and I am planning to bring my kids when they are eligible. If you plan to do this, try groupon. Its cheaper. And it takes half of the day so plan accordingly. We were there from 10 to 3.And close toe shoe is required. Lockers are available.

Last year i did a three generation skydive at peperell skydive. Dad 83, my daughter who had just returned from Afghanistan and me. The staff was amazing, they quickly make you feel like this is no big deal. From the training video to the jump they are right there with you. I would recommend everyone goes!,,

I reserved for myself and my granddaughter. The staff was excellent, the price was right, and the jump---the most memorable thing I have ever done. This is something I would recommend to anyone!!!

When the groupon came up i thought this was the perfect gift for my daughters 18th birthday. I suprised her with it and she was more than excited. All the staff was very friendly and accomidating. The pilot and the instructor took time to talk with us and answer any questions we had. They have a great space for spectators to watch and even kid friendly toys to entertain the younger ones. We've decided it will be the 18th birthday gift to all our kids. My husband wants to come jump next time so i am guessing we will be back again soon. Thanks so much to everyone who helped make this day perfect!!!

I've always wanted to do this and am so glad we did. There was a Groupon available and that was enough to push us over the edge.We also purchased the video hand-cam option with the jump. If you don't have pictures or video, then it's only hearsay about what you've been through! From the start to the finish the team there was professional. They are very casual about the event which I can understand as they do this all day long and up to 6-10 times a day!The worst part is sitting through the legal video where they give you all the reasons not to jump and walk away before you legally indemnify everyone and anyone who could every be possibly held responsible for anything that goes wrong. I get it, but man what a bummer. So sign your life away and get ready to live your life! Take a Tandem jump with one of the experts here, less than 0.1% of the population in the world will ever do what you are about to do! You will never forget the experience because it will change your life.1... 2... 3.... GO

I had a great time on my first tandem jump. My instructor Russ gave me clear and simple instructions, and made the entire experience fun. This is a professional and well-run operation. I can highly recommend Skydive Pepperell.

I took my first tandem dive on July 4th, and cannot say enough great things about this drop zone and the experience. It was fun, exciting and surprisingly...dare I say relaxing? That's because the idea of jumping out of an airplane is potentially frightening, but the professionalism of the staff lends such an air of confidence and safety that I could just sit back and enjoy. Soooooo ready to go again!

Wow….still on a high after doing the jump at 10.00 a.m. this morning with my husband and a friend. The weather was just perfect and the instructors were just great, made us all feel at ease and let us enjoy the ride…we even saw the Boston skyline. We didn’t have to wait long after we registered and were lucky as the winds held for our jump. Reid my instructor agreed to take a hand camera with still shots as the assigned videographer opted not to jump due to the high wind. Thanks Reid loved the shots you took and thank you for taking some good shots of my husband too. Special thanks to Ray who included us in the pictures he took of our friend. Registration was a breeze and the wait was not too long. The staff certainly went out of their way to make the event extra special. Certainly will do it again…Take the pictures

I went to Pepperell for the tandem skydive last summer. Now it will be an annual event for me. It was fabulous . Skydive Pepperell does it all right. I would not go anywhere else to dive. Loved it !!!!!!!!

I had such a blast on my tandem jump!! My instructor asked me if I wanted to flip going out of the plane so of corse I said yes. After he explained everything to me we loaded the plane, on our way up I was wondering what I was thinking. We flipped during our jump it was amazing!' I will defiantly go back again. The view on the way down is unbelievable. : )

Back in Feb 2012, a friend and I decided we were jumping out of a plane this year. We ended up getting a Groupon to Skydive Pepperell shortly after that conversation and convinced 4 other people to join us. Skydive Pepperell is a great organization with very friendly staff and they know how to get things done. We were actually scheduled to jump in August but got rained out that day. They easily rescheduled us for a Saturday in September and it is a day I will never forget and will be talking to my grandchildren about. None of us had jumped before and we ranged from 24 to my 77 year old stepfather (we now call him superman). Highly recommend this activity and this organization.

Finally had perfect weather for my jump yesterday!! Excellent location, small and friendly operation. I could feel the camaraderie amongst the skydivers. Made me feel welcome. Very professional and safety conscious. Highly recommend and hope to make this an annual event!

I decided to do the unthinkable and jump out of a perfectly good airplane with some friends when I had seen they had bought a groupon ticket. Getting to the DZ was a little confusing following a GPS, so we had called Pepperell and asked for directions and they were very helpful giving us step by step directions. We checked in, and were directed to a room to watch a video, then sign waivers. We geared up and did our interviews for our videos. I recommend waiting to put on the hats until after you are on the plane, we looked like coneheads throughout our interviews ha. During the plane flight the instructors were good at easing the nerves a bit before the jump. Then at 10,500 feet the green light came on for us to begin jumping. When we got to the door seeing that vast open air I questioned my sanity at that very moment but I was not going to back down and in an instant we were out the door. I felt like it was hard breathing during freefall, this is normal for alot of people, just remember to breath if you have to shout at the camera guy do it.My instructor Jag during the canopy ride down showed me the distant sights and had me do practice landing procedures. My Overall experience was fantastic, I recommend everyone try this atleast once. The Pepperell staff were friendly and helpful with any questions we had. There is a snack bar onsite along with a giftshop.

I tried all summer to use the Groupon I bought for a tandem jump. In June and July (for the date I could go) the weather did not cooperate, and the company is all about safety. I finally got to go yesterday, August 25, and it could not have been a better first tandem jump. The place is both orderly and casual at the same time, peppered with characters who wander in and out of your experience, including some dogs. After the scariest part (signing your name about 40 times to say you know it is dangerous and you won't sue them if something weird happens) It is all fun from there. Do, do , do get the photo package. You get your own accompanying camera person, and they do an awesome job.I'm so glad they did the Groupon, because that was what finally put this "to do" at the top of my list. Thank you so much to everyone at Skydive Pepperell! It was a wonderful experience.Juli Lederhaus
