if you like history and fire this is the place you want to go to. Call for times open because they change a lot.

Took our son and he was allowed all over the trucks, allowed to ring bells and crank the old sirens. Kids are free and adults are $3! It's run by a former New Bedford firefighter and his son and they are so informative about the history of the trucks, memorabilia, and even the building itself. A great way to spend an hour with the little ones, they open at 4 and you even ring the firehouse bell to get in! Awesome time!

Good time for kids, they have every firetruck ever used in New Bedford. Kids can dress up and slide down poles. If your kid loves fire fighter then this is a must do.

A locally run museum by a retired fire fighter. Lots of great history to learn and lots of fun activities for kids. Everyone should experience this museum at least once.

I was happy to find this. My kids loved it. For a small donation (I was embarrassed to pay such a small fee) .. you kids can walk through this old fire station and climb on the fire trucks ... pretend to drive them, ring the bell. There is a fire pole to slide down and fire hats and cloths to try on. It's a lot of fun for kids and a historic interest for parents. Don't miss it.
