We finally got into Caribiners, a place I just kept putting off visiting for no other reason other than uncertainty on how the place worked as far as visiting, paying for just a day, who helps you climb the rocks etc. We went for the sole purpose of climbing the rock walls so we scheduled a visit ahead of time and for a small fee, a staff member was our belayer (holds the ropes for you as you climb to keep you safe). You are given climbing shoes and a helmet when you check in and off you go! There is an upstairs beginnger area where you can climb the walls that while challenging for a new climber are much easier to navigate. Once you get the hang of it, you are able to go to the downstairs area with taller walls and more challenges. The kids LOVED this day, and the staff are all so very friendly. Some friends have been visiting Caribiners for years. They do zumba, yoga, pole dance, work out classes and more. I wish we lived closer so this could be part of our regular family fun but we do plan to visit again.

Four of us went to climb yesterday (ages 8 - 55) and it was fantastic Patrick was our belayer. He helped us learn and was very encouraging. I would recommend this as a family activity or for serious climbers.

Recently took my 13 year old son and his friend to this impressive indoor climbing facility in downtown New Bedford. Their instructor (belayer) for the hour, Corey, was friendly and encouraging to the boys as he taught them how to properly climb up the multiple routes of the 6-story rock walls. They got braver and braver as time went on and their hour of instruction went by super fast. Already talking about going back and bringing more friends.

This huge beautiful clean rock gym is full of amenities including treadmills, showers And of course the big beautiful walls! You can climb into caves or in the dark with a headlamp! It's awesome.
